Unprofessional, Crowded and Bad Service 4/19/2008

This was my first pedicure since last summer and I was really looking forward to it. I left with a substandard pedicure and the lady who helped me was very rude. She gave me a lecture about how my feet were ugly and how I need to get pedicures every other month to make them look nicer. I also observed that she did not adequately clean the sink out. She simply sprayed a chemical on it, filled it with water and let it soak. In my experience at other salons, they actually scrub the sink with a cleaner and it seems much more sanitary. This was the worst pedicure I have ever had. If you want first class service, I strongly suggest White Orchid in San Mateo or the spa at the Marriot on Sonoma. Take my advice, do not go to this salon! Pros: I really liked the service at the check in and check out Cons: Everything else more

Lavande Nail Spa - Not worth what they charge! 6/4/2007

This is regarding the Santana Row location. In addition to finding it tough to schedule an appointment due to lack of open appointments, they have poorly trained front desk employees and a manager who was not willing to take responsibility for an employees unacceptable action. Not to mention how difficult it is to get a live person to answer the phone. It took me two weeks before I was able to schedule an appointment! Once I was able to scheduled an appointment, I noticed that two days after my manicure, the nail polish started peeling off. I had to make two trips to Lavande Nail Spa in order the have them fix a poorly done manicure (and this is putting it midly). On my first attempt, I called and was told by an employee to show up any time to have my problem taken care of. When I got there, I was turned away because I was not scheduled. To save some grief, I went ahead and booked an appointment for another day. They were too busy to be bothered by an irrate client who only need to have the nail polish re-done. On my second attempt, which was right after work on a Friday, I arrived to find out that I was not scheduled on that day or any other day for that matter! At this point, I was furious! I literally spent 10 minutes having to explain my situation all over again before someone was able to re-do my nail polish. more

Horrible Experience! 11/16/2006

This is regarding the Santana Row location. My girlfriends and I had made appointments for a mid-afternoon getaway of pedicures and massages which turned out to be one nightmare after the next. The receptionist hadn't booked the massages we had ordered, they couldn't seat us all at once (even though we all had the same appointment time they said they were really busy), my girlfriend wanted some ""bling"" put on her toes and the tech said she didn't have enough time, we weren't offered any tea or water, only one of us could get a massage, this was due to there overbooking situation, and to top it off when we asked to speak to the manage/owner, she just said we could get a 10% discount and there's nothing more that she could do. This was very disappointing that customer service has dropped to this level. Pros: Location Cons: Customer Service, Customer Service, Customer Service more

Massages are Heaven.. (Janine on Santana Row) 6/4/2006

I thought it was a little expensive for my nails, but massages were 70 (average). I made an appointment. I even specified I wanted my back worked on longer than the other parts. My masseuse Janine applied the pressure I asked for and gave me the custom massage I wanted. I felt relaxed when I left and I make sure to ask for Janine whenever I want a massage. Shes super friendly and wont talk unless you talk first. So if you dont want her to be chatty she wont. I hate going in for a massage and you are trying to relax - and they talk the whole time. Pros: janine, massages, cute shop Cons: high cost more

Worst and most expensive nails I've ever had 9/26/2005

The only good thing about Lavande on Carl St. is that it's reasonably clean. The manicurist didn't know how to provide the requested service (pink and white manicure with gel topper), although I had phoned ahead and specifically asked for that style. She kept trying different approaches, adding one on top of the other, so that the result was lumpy and very thick. Also ridiculously expensive-$65 for a fill; twice what I've paid elsewhere. Totally wretched. Cons: expensive, unskilled, crowded more

Another Discount Nail Salon with better Decor 8/5/2005

What a dissapointment. I got the mani pedi combo and at no time was I pampered or relaxed. Like at every other discount nail salon in the city my nail technician pushed and pulled at my extremeties as if she was on a race to finish faster than anyone. The water in the pedi spa was cold, she never turned on the chair or offered me a magazine. The exfoliation part of the pedicure was lacking as dead skin is still hanging from the balls of my feet. She cut the cuticles in my fingers and made me bleed 3 times. Then she finished and started with another client without saying goodbye or removing the tissue that separated my toes. Crappy manicure and pedicure overall. I can do it better myself. Dont bother with this place. Pros: Clean, Decent ventilation Cons: unskilled technician, rushed and hostile more

The best manicure and pedicure I had...ever!!! 3/16/2005

I had an awesome Chocolate pedicure!! You gotta try it! Pros: friendly, experienced techs, personable Cons: none, none, none more

blissful!!! 1/19/2005

This was the first time I've gone there and it's absolutely heavenly!!! You get pampered in a pretty atmosphere and the staff is really nice! The basic manicure and pedicure are great. The hand and foot massage is divine! I am looking forward to next time! Pros: pretty atmosphere, nice staff more

Don't go here! 12/19/2004

I am writing about their new location on Polk Street. My first experience was great- nice mani pedi. However, my second experience was HORRIBLE. I made an appt and she asked me to come in early. I came in early and I was still waiting over 1/2 hour after my appt. Apologies were made but that is unacceptable! She should of offered me some sort of discount on my future appt or something- now I am writing this because of the unacceptable service I received. more
