Brought my little Pom in for her shots and to get a quick follow-up since she was sick last. Dr. Santos is the only Vet i request, she is amazingly sweet and knowledgable as well. Dr. Santos actually sat with my baby for 10 mins after her Bordetella shot massaging her injection site and making sure Pom was happy. Also she recommended some great over-the-counter allergy meds, healthy treats, food etc... Really, this is the best vet I have had in four states! I have two Poms and they just love Dr. Santos and i think the feeling is mutual. I live and work on the West side and drive all the way to Larchmont so my dogs can get treated by Dr. Santos. more

been going there 11 years but not frequently as my last several cats had been seeing animal specialist at ASG vets.\r love dr. ciganek. he has always reminded me of jimmy stewart, but i cant say that i had much confidence in his medical opinions. and the same for dr. mccartney who i saw once.\r they have two new vets.dr. santos is a great vet, worked previously in all cat hosp, and has herself 4 cats. i have so much trust in her. \r dr. imhoff i saw once and he seemed good too.\r \r some of their prices are MUCH higher than even the vet specialist i used to see., but they are located faily close to my home\r \r i hope dr. santos stays more

I recently purchased and new puppy. My boyfriend and I took our new puppy to Larchmont Animal Clinic, the staff was great, personable and very friendly. The doc walk us through the next few weeks with our new puppy and gave us good suggestion. Pros: Clean, nice people more

This vet was recommended to me when I moved to LA, and I have been extremely happy with them. They are very gentle with my pets, and have always taken good care of them. I also love that I can get grooming done at the same place as the vet care. more

My cats come here once a year for shots, check-ups, and grooming. The cats seem a little more relaxed here than at other vets, and the lion haircuts they get are absolutely adorable! My cats have never been sick though, so I can't vouch for how this place handles sick pets. But I recommend them for check-ups and haircuts. I have been going to this vet with my 2 dogs since 2007 and will be switching after three straight visits with issues. I have two dogs and have been treated poorly from top to bottom......starting with the vet to the assistant. Unfortunately one of my dogs now has a chronic bronchitis which has caused her to have an enlarged heart. This was not diagnosed despite many visits with the same issue. Thankfully, diagnostic testing has provided an answer but $400 for an inexpensive antibiotic, inexpensive anti-inflammatory and a SINGLE VIEW Xray. I still cannot call the vet and tell them the issue persists... come in, spend more money....and no longer honoring comparible pricing for flea medications. \r I thought the treatment I received may have been in response to my being irritated until they treated my very kind and considerate even husband worse. Ive been taking my pup there for years and years. I dare say they helped my puppy (no longer a puppy) extend his life span. he is a happy healthy 13 year old chow. I was refered to the clinic by a friend when my dog's old vet brutally handled my less than doctor friendly dog in front of me. At larchmont tI was met with friendly faces everywhere that completely understood how I felt when i said that although my dog isnt extremely people friendly he was still my baby. They were able do all the necessary steps to make me and my dog comfortable and their staff took extra gentle care despite my dog being a little rough around the edges. The doctor's all understand my Buffy's needs and over the years Buffy's come to really like his Dr. Mac. Also Larchmont always always quotes u prices which they tell you are just an approximation and if any other costs come up they tell you. so really you have to sign before they do anything or charge so i must remind the people who seem to complain about a high bill that they at one point signed off on it and they wont do anything you dont want to be done.From the wonderful crew at the front desk to all the doctors and techs behind the scenes it's the only place I'd trust my dog to. I have a Shar-Pei puppy... Well, she's not really a puppy anymore but she's my baby, and I have been taking her to the Larchmont Animal Clinic for the last 4 years. She's usually a very quiet dog and when we go out she simply stays by my side watching and protecting. But the girls (and boy) at Larchmont are so friendly and outgoing that from our first visit they have taken it upon themselves to become my Jia's bestest friends (aside from me of course). Actually, I have to laugh every time that we go in because as soon as the girls at the front see Jia there's always a very high-pitched sound that comes from the reception desk and they all run out to play with her and give her treats (unless they're extremely busy and then they make up for it on our way out). And that's not all that I have to say about them. I recently found a homeless dog on my way home from work and the poor thing looked so sick and skinny that I put him in my car and drove him to the clinic. I told the staff what happened and they took him in right away. I thought that they might charge me for looking at the pup and getting him back to health but they actually took him in for free and even found a home for him. I called back the next day to ask about the doggie and they said that one of the vet assistants had made some calls and found someone to take the dog in once he was all better. I was really surprised by the compassion that these doctors and staff showed for the poor puppy. And I heard later from them that he was doing great in his new home. My Beagador, Ginger, is only 11 months old and has had numerous illnesses since I adopted her, partly due to the incompetence of the vets at the Larchmont Animal Clinic. She first contracted Giardia before I even got her, and they prescribed her the wrong medicine, twice, so she suffered with an intestinal parasite for the first 8 months of her life. Only when I took her to a REAL vet in San Francisco, did she receive proper treatment and get any better. Since then, possibly as a complication of having Giardia for so long, Ginger has developed a laundry list of skin, ear, eye and food allergies. For this, the vets at the clinic prescribed nothing, but instead told us to give her OTC Benedryl and eye drops. They also offered no suggestions for helping her cope with these allergies other than to wipe her down after she went out to try to clean off any allergens. Poor Ginger suffered for a month while I tried to discourage her from chewing her feet and tummy raw unsuccessfully. Finally, when Ginger's ear got infected, I again took her to REAL vet in Northern California. This vet took the time to look at other possible afflictions, prescribed EFFECTIVE treatment for her skin irritation and ear infection, and also gave instructions on how to decide on the right food options for Ginger. Ginger is finally feeling better, no thanks to the Larchmont Animal Clinic. more

This place is the greatest. My dog loves going here, right up until the time he sees the needle. The small girl up front spoils my baby like it was her own. The doctors are great, and Bailey has his favorite but i'm sure they are all good. The location could not be better. They even have a pet store right next to their parking lot where you could stop by and get something to bribe your dog into behaving for the doctor.\r They do everything there, baths, shots, and even risking their lives to clip my Bailey nails. \r I highly recommend it :) Pros: Location, Staff Cons: Busy... more

This is the worst animal clinic I have ever been to. You would think that because Larchmont is a nice area and they charge sky high prices, that they would take great care of your pet. You would be very wrong! I have two young dogs one is only 8 weeks old. They made 3 very harmful health decisions with my pets because of their lazyness and assembly line service. You really are just a number here. My 8 week old had worms and he said it was ok to keep her with my other dog and they would both be fine. Boy was he wrong, my other dog got worms as well so I had 2 sick dogs and to make matters worse i had to fight them to deworm my scond dog free of charge because of THEIR mistake. They acted like they were doing me a favor. Then my second problem with them: Since my dogs were both sick now I brought them back in to the doctors office on a friday, and she said keep an eye on them and call me on saturday morning and I will give you medicine if you still need it. I called the doctor in the morning as instructed left a message and she never called me back and to make matters worse it was a long holiday weekend. My sick dog went 4 days without medicine because of their lazyness and assembly line service. I WILL SAY IT AGAIN YOU ARE JUST A NUMBER HERE! and the third and final mistake: They tried to charge me for an exam fee twice in 12 days. Another major problem about this place: THEY TRY TO MAKE MONEY OFF YOU ANY WAY THEY CAN. That was the final straw I said give me my records and im going to a clinic where they actually care about the safety and well being of all animals. After all you would expect that at a vets office isnt that what they are in business for? one final note the office manager SCARLET IS A BIT*H. She had the nerve to blame their mistakes on me the customer. When i told them they were loosing two customers they could care less, after all I WAS JUST A NUMBER. my dog left there with the worst hair cut choppy, uneven and to boot, their appliance slipped.. and she has this hideous 4 in by 2 inch rectangle on the middle of her rump!! luckily, she didnt get cut.. plus, she was there for over 9 hours and she came out like this?? she was VERY thirsty too. I've never seen her drink that much water after a grooming visit.. they offered to ""finish"" her the next day.... I declined. apparently, the orig. groomer got sick and left ""the hardest parts for him to finish"".. they told me to call around 130 to see if she was finished .. i ended up calling like 3 times... if they would have just told me they couldnt finish her, i wouldve picked her up mid day and gladly taken her back.. it seemed to me they didnt want others in the office to see her.. so they purposely kept her until 6pm.. when no one else was in the lobby... never go back for grooming!! We have a couple of geriatric pets, a doggie and a kitty--our kitty ""found"" us about a year ago and we didnt know she was as old as it turns out she is... but we were completely ""smitten"" with her!!! We initially took our kitty there as she was rapidly losing weight, listless.. Dr Ciganek was not the first vet we saw at larchmont, can't remember his name, and he was nice too, but all visits since then, have been with Dr Ciganek and he is so kind to answer all questions and address our concerns. He actually calls you back when you leave him messages! He understood we had concerns/ trying to balance the spenditures /issues as well...as our cat who was diganosed with advanced kidney failure and he was honest and told us what to expect. While we've spent a fair amount of money on her he has been spot on and she has gained weight and is significantly better all around, we understand she will never fully recover from this, but she is not in pain and is eating very well on her own. (we do an iv for fluids on her daily) I simply can not say enough about this doctor so far. \r On a different note, the support staff.. there seems to be one that usually answers the phone and is just about the rudest person I've ever dealt with.. and she has consistantly been the ""one"" I seem to always get when I call..you can literally hear her sighing in exasperation (eyes rolling) on the phone! So beware if you get her.. but others on the staff at the reception are really nice.. I guess there is always one ... otherwise, I highly recommend this doctor!! I love the staff. I had recently had surgery on my sholuder and my grandmother needed to take her cat to the vet. My grandmother is frail and her cat is 22 pounds of trouble. One of the girls out front carried the cat all the way from the parking lot to the exam room. They didn't let me or my grandmother lift a thing. I guess they saw we were in need of help, but the thing is we didn't even have to ask. This kind of service is rare, but not at this place. Can't say it enough, GREAT, GREAT STAFF. Pros: Staff more

My poor cat had a cough for three weeks, after going to two other vets i finally went to the larchmont animal clinic. After only one visit the doctor there diagnosed my cat with asthma. It was such a relief to finally know what was wrong with my cat. They made it looks so easy too. I cant thank them enough, my cat hasn't had a cough since. I was out for an evening run with my baby yorkie when some huge dog came running towards us. I tried to pick her up but the dog practically took her out of my hands. When i got her loose she was bleeding from what looked like every where, i had just joined the larchchmont animal clinic. I knew they were closed but i called them anyway, the answering service transfered me to one of the doctors who agreed to meet me at the clinic. I don't know what i would of done that day without Dr. Ciganek, he saved my baby's life. Pros: Great Doctors more

Dogs, cats, birds, lizards, even hamsters they do it all. I have almost every pet you can think of and i go to these guys for all of them. Pets don't like to go to the vet but when they have to go this is the place. Pros: The VETS more

I know no animals love trips to the vet, but if you have to take them this would be the place for you. There are plenty of helpful people. I have two killer chihuahuas who i know are not easy to handle, but every time i bring them in they are treated like angels. This is definitely the place for me. As an extra bonus they have a huge parking lot thats for both their clinic and their pet store, in case you didn't know its really hard to find parking on larchmont so this is great. After the doctors visit you can take your doggies to the petstore for a little treat, although the girl upfront always gives some away. Pros: Parking, People Cons: sorta busy more
