She did a great job 9/12/2018

Julie does a caring job, she had healed my wounds by applying the right things on my wounds so they could heal properly. There are a number of great employees here one being my nurse today, darlisa Robert the cna , Helen Thompson , she makes me laugh when she is caring for me and she really lifts my spirit, also Jackie the cna is great, I think his name is marcos and Gail the cna all these people took good care of me. I could get up I would give these people a hug. more

Mom's care 9/12/2018

My mother recieved good care there at kindred . The staff and doctors treated her kind. She will be discharging home soon and Julie with wound care had given all the instructions needed to take care of her wound, it is too many nurses to name but they all did a good job. more

Everything is perfect 9/12/2018

I have really enjoyed my stay here at Kindred the Heights, everyone has come when I called and treated me with the upmost respect. I will be leaving soon to go to another facility and everyone has been by just to wish me well . I hope the care is just as good where I'm going. Everything here was perfect. This is my second review since being a patient here. more

My wife was bad off 8/17/2018

My wife was so bad off when she arrived here , I can't even explain it, this young lady is my head nurse although she claims she is just a wound care nurse. She makes sure my wife is dry before she starts to work on her and before she leaves she ask us if there is anything else we can get for us. This is special care given by one of your employees. more

My first time here 8/17/2018

This is my first time in the hospital, Kindred the Heights and the services are great. The nurses, doctors, nurse assistants are very professional and helpful. Everyone has been very accommodating to me and my family who they have to stay over with me at night and sometimes during the day as well. The housekeeping and kitchen staff were very helpful and serves with a smile. I will not stop before I express a special thanks to someone who went above and beyond. I came here with a bad wound and my wound care lady Julie C.made the best treatment decisions and above all got me and my wife involved as well in my care giving us updates of my wound care improvement, that was very caring of her to do so. My doctor Dr. Siddiqi is a one of a kind Doctor , very caring and compassionate . Stacey and Remi in rehab are extra ,extremely good employees along with Emmy a nurse on the 4th floor is very good. I almost forgot Arnoldo from the cleaning staff who works at night, I believe he is the floor tech. The call lights were always answered when I called, very few staff we came across that need to be a little more caring and compassionate. The patient advocate comes often with a smile on her face to check on the care that I'm receiving. I thank Kindred Hospital Heights staff from the bottom of my heart and I will recommend this hospital to anyone. more

I'm surprised by the care 8/9/2018

I have been here awhile and am very surprised by the people here , I mentioned to the patient advocate that I didn't have any clothes and so many people have brought me new clothes with tags still on it. This is unbelievable for people to care so much for patients. I have been a diabetic for over 20 years and almost died, I have been in the hospital so many times and I sometimes get discouraged but the people here have really showed care and concern for patients. I was a truck driver and traveled all over the world. I won't ever forget these people and how they blessed me through the clothes that I recieved.... more

Everyone has been really nice 8/9/2018

Everyone here has treated me with great respect and have been really nice to me. I was disappointed we didn't have bingo last week but I hear we are having it today, this is where you meet new people and I get a chance to get out of my room for a change. They give me a lot of food here more than I can eat most times.i love it when my kids come to visit me and the staff treats them nice as well. more

I can't believe how nice these people are! 8/6/2018

There is one worker here that puts a smile on my face, I met her for the first time Saturday she has an everlasting impression on me even the doctors were amazed with her work. My leg was so swollen and this lady go out all that fluid by squeezing it out . The dead skin was removed . If this lady is good at her old age I can't imagine what she was like in her early days . We laughed the whole time.. She takes pride in what she does. She has blessed hands and I am so glad she is helping my wound. Mr Samuel and ms Arlene have also been great. more

My experience 7/23/2018

My experience here has been good my wound care has been great especially when ms Julie does it . I've been here since the end of May . Rehab is also good as well , ms Helen Thompson makes me feel really special. Erica in ot and ntshona even if she is not on my case she comes by and says high to me . If I could get better communication from my case manager things would be better. Although I put in my meal order they still get it wrong, but my doctor Siddiqi is really good with me , he really shows that he care and explains everything to me and breaks it done so I am not nervous about what's going on. more

I'm at the right place! 7/20/2018

I Was 77 days at select in Longview, Texas and at a couple more places before coming here And I have gotten more help here than in any other facility . The rehab team is so helpful and incredible , they really care about the patients and I am able to have fun doing my workouts . Didn't know they played bingo as well with the patients I was sent to a nursing home and only there for 16 hours because they couldn't provide the services that I. Needed. I have only been home two and half weeks since November 2017. I can't say enough about the rehab team and dr Varon along with the Woundcare Doctor they really seem to Have a plan for me getting better and for me to progress. I hope I am not leaving here until I am good and ready to go home in Gilmer Texas so that i am able to provide for myself and not have to spend anymore time in the hospital. Thanks to the entire staff here at Kindred. more

I like it here 7/20/2018

Everybody is nice, especially Wound care. more

Things are getting better 7/18/2018

I have been here awhile and feel the night nurses really need a new since if urgency the day time nurses are somewhat better. I really really made a lot of progress with the rehab department to some extent , I do get to liking some ot the people here I hate to leave those people. I will be moving on to a rehab facility and they seem to be impressed with all of my progress I said I've been under the directives of slave drivers although I do like them. I'm not ever going to like hospital food so I don't hold them responsible for that because I do understand they have to stay in the range of serving healthy meals. more

I like it here 7/18/2018

I have enjoyed my stay for now I'm just waiting on a procedure other than that I'm doing fine they treat me well and I've gotten to know everybody . I want to say thanks to the cna's and nurses along with the kitchen and physical therapy and I can't help to mention ms Gilmore who is a nice young lady who try's to bring my newspapers and crossword puzzles and tomorrow is bingo day . I can't wait! I even celebrated my birthday here with aunt who works here ms Helen Dixon she also has helped in making this a good experience. The doctors also treat me well. more

A job well done 7/10/2018

My brother was admitted to kindred hospital the heights between Feb and March 2018, I have nothing but good things to say about kindred compared to other facilities that my brother had been in, even our initial concern of my brothers hygiene was brought to the patient advocate Jessie's attention and she took care of it but my trust grew even more when I came across Ms. Julie from the wound care department which wound care was a big need for my brother she was well educated and she taught us as well about the care what to expect and the reasoning behind everything, no one has ever given me this type of information before. She really gave us the assurance that she would be with us every step of the way, this made me feel like I didn't have to be there everyday just to make sure my brother was being cared for. I want to thank everyone who cared for him there at Kindred Heights. May god bless all of you more

Lovely experience 7/10/2018

Everybody treats me so nice especially all the women, it's hard to name them all ... I am here on the third floor so that would mean everyone who works on the third floor of the hospital... I do know the lady in wound care who always reminds me that her name is Julie-she is a lot of fun. more

Doing fine 7/2/2018

I am being treated just as I should be treated here at Kindred Hospital . Everyone treats me well. I love that the little lady comes by and check on me and always ask how I'm doing. more

The staff are all excellent 6/27/2018

The staff met all of my expectations and my special thanks goes to the rehab team, Remi, Erica, Aayrin Collins, this staff is awesome, I would not be here where I am now if it wasn't for them. I was very sick when I came to Kindred Heights. The rehab department here is excellent also a special thanks to nurse Samuel, he went above and beyond with my care. The Woundcare specialist , Ms Julie really took care of my wound and healed it, she helped me with other needs besides taking care of my wound. I will never forget you all. Thank God for sending me here to you, you are my angels.. Thanks to all staff more

Care here can't be beat 6/21/2018

I had such a great experience at Kindred hospital the Heights, the kindness was overwhelming and a very positive one. I want anyone who will listen to know that Tamika, Erica, Shatelene, Rose, Annie, Abbie and everyone there that stepped foot in room 429 was just so wonderful and took such good care of me, also the guy Marlon that often came by to ask me if my stay was going well, I really appreciate the concern, as I said before I am sad that I can't remember the names of everyone in rehab department and everyone involved in my care as well. I absolutely loved my stay. Thanks for hiring these great people. How can I forget the wound care lady Julie. more

Thank you and much appreciation 6/12/2018

Julie Carrillo Rn- Woundcare (Kindred Hospital-Heights Houston,Texas The bible says "be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. We as humans are always less comfortable and apprehensive about our new surroundings. This is the way both Michael and I felt when he was admitted into Kindred the Heights. When I say God has a plan for our lives and he's in control , this is an understatement. We first met Julie, one of Michael's nurse during the evaluation process. She was a cheerful energetic person explaining every step of the way and the reason for the evaluation. I thought to myself this perky behavior was not going to last due to my past experiences. A few days passed and she showed up to dress Michaels's wound with the same personality and attitude. Michael was a man of few words, but with Julie there was something about her that made him become more engaging in conversations with her. From the interaction with Michael , I began to observe what her true character was all about. As for Michael and I became more trusting of her, he felt free to ask her questions and in return she became comfortable with us. She was meticulous and gentle in caring for Mike's wound. You would have thought she was caring for the wound of a newborn. Her Woundcare was based on individual care not general care. Her nursing specialty may have been Woundcare, but what I observed was not beneath her to meet other needs, he might have .,such as assisting him to eat, changing his bedding and even helping him make a phone call to me. She literally called me with daily updates , just in case I missed her when I visited. At that time, I knew that this was not just a job for her, but a special calling on her life. Her God-given Faith was expressed in both words and actions. There was never a day that her faith was not in operation, whether through her professional skills or her personable behavior. She helped prepare me for when was to come. She was a stranger who became an angel . more
