What a nice salon! From the moment I walked through the doors I was greeted by pleasant, attractive people. Gillian was my requested stylist and boy was I pleased! She gave me a thorough consultation wanting to know details of my personal to professional lifestyle. She colored and cut my hair personally, not passing me off to anyone else which has happened at other salons to my horror....My haircut is updated and my color has never looked better! Natural looking hair color finally! Terra was able to give me color while also minimizing those warm tones that I really detest . I'm very happy and definitely recommend this salon. Great location, very upscale and wonderful shopping! I even had a couple of star spottings at the country mart, fun day! Cons: parking can be tough on weekends, very busy area more

USERS!! My only concern with this place is that ALMOST ALL good reviews are 5 stars and if you click on the user, they have only written ONE review. Kind of makes me skeptical. That is unusual. Would like to see what users that use this site often are saying. more

Just to give you some background on my hair.... I have really fine and extremely damaged hair due to chemical lightening and a bad perm I had many years ago. It left my hair brittle, dull looking and half curly half straight but all over frizz! Frankly it's a mess and I have to use my hair straightener everyday for my hair to even look decent, which is adding to the damage. Pros: love the staff and they all do a great job!! My hair has always been a nightmare...fine and straight on top and corkscrew curly underneath. The slightest moisture in the air turned my head into a big fuzz ball. I was afraid of chemical straighteners and had heard horror stories of hair ""breaking."" But Gillian offered me this new treatment and I trusted her. I'm really stunned. My hair is sleek and shiny and fabulous. The treatment is supposed to last several months and I plan to repeat it whenever I need it. I can't ever go back to the way it was before. I can't stop touching my hair and staring at myself in the mirror. more

I have never been able to get rid of my frizzies, until now! I have wavy, frizzy hair that no matter how hard i work at it, it just never looks polished. So to my surprise I was offered the brazilian blowout and thought what the hell I will try anything at this point! I cannot even describe how happy I am, my hair is beautiful, shinier than ever and I'm able to just wash and go......It's amazing! My appointment was with Sean a really nice guy, and also a color teacher...I'm tired of paying hundreds of dollars in bev hills for my hair but had no idea I could have it colored BETTER right in my own backyard for a fraction of the price. I have been going to Jennifer for a couple of years now, and she gets my blonde perfect everytime. She even sees all of my friends now! I have always left a happy client, and I get stopped all the time asking where I get my hair done. more

First of all, I went to this place because my friend referred me to it. I saw Jennifer who's very nice but couldn't understand what I wanted. She basically ruined my hair by making it way too blonde! The haircut was also bad, I asked her to use the razor, she didn't! I wanted to cry when I left! I called the next day and asked to speak to the owner ( a Annie Lennox wannabe ) and she never returned my call! Cons: NO BATHROOM, OWNER DOESN'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE more

I just moved from Chicago in June. I've had my hair done twice by Sean. The first time I went in I was in need of blonde highlights. The 2nd time I wanted to go dark. Both times I received great service from the color to cut. I love my new color. I have never had a stylist who was so precise, yet gentle and leaves me with a great new look every time I walk out the door. I love change but I am also picky. I have not one thing to be picky about with Sean. He is the best! Regarding the salon itself, it's modern and clean and the staff is very friendly. I have yet to see someone walk out unhappy while I'm there. You must check it out! more

I'm asian and it's been really difficult to find a salon that could make me lighter without the usual brassiness, until now! I went to this salon yesterday and received the most beautiful blonde ever, I love it. They were able to get me to such a pretty blonde that previous stylists told me was not possible for me. I am now a double process which is a little bit more expensive but worth every penny. more

After trying a lot of the ""big name"" salons in bev hills and not getting what I wanted I decided to head west and try the Gillian Bissett Color salon. I have become extremely allergic to hair color and need someone to work with me that is not only meticulous but knows exactly what they are doing! I called this salon based on the reviews and asked for a color correction expert because I made my hair ash/greenish, and was referred to Terra. She listed attentively to me, and I showed her pictures of the color highlights that I wanted, and it seemed she understood. She made me feel confident that she could remove the green/ash and give me the medium golden brown base with golden brown highlights that I wanted. The lighting in there is terribly artificial, so 3 hours later, after she said that she used a ""neutral base"" (remember, I said I wanted a golden brown base), it was dark outside and since the lighting in there wasn't realistic, she told me to go home and look at it, and if I needed anything more/less/fixed, to come back and she would do it for free, no problem. I paid $95 for base color, $65 for highlights (not bad, I have shorter hair), and $105 (!) for a haircut! I went home and could not believe that I still had greenish/ash brown base with yellow highlights! I did this myself and that's what I came in to have corrected! I went back the next day and Terra managed to warm up the overall effect, I went home and looked at it - now she covered up all of the highlights and I was left with an overall one color dark golden brown with NO more highlights except for a few yellow ones still peeking through, no shine, dull, drab color! Now I needed to have highlights put back in! I wasn't about to go back there a 3rd time because I didn't think she knew what she was doing at this point and I lost all confidence in her. I couldn't believe she let me leave looking like that and she could be proud of her work. My hair can handle a lot and is still in good condition. However, I felt that I should be refunded for the hair coloring part. I left a message and they said no refunds, but the owner wanted to see my hair. No thank you!-not going back! And the haircut is NOT worth $105.00! And I didn't get a scalp massage like everyone else! Pros: Nice, friendly people Cons: NOT color experts, overpriced more

The team that work here are wonderful. They managed to get me in on Saturday much to my surprise, and I was seen by Sean who took wonderful care of me! (and who is also a color educator..). He was very thorough with me and explained what he was doing as he worked on my over processed hair.. After having my stylist of 4 yrs ruin my hair this past weekend, I freaked out and googled until I found the best color correction salon in Los Angeles. Based on reviews on this website, I desperately called Gillian Bissette today and was able to be seen same day. I knew that the colorist would do a wonderful job, but she far exceeded my expectations. I saw Dulce, who transformed my almost black and white striped (skunk) hair, back to the brown and golden blonde highlights that I am used to rockin. She was so patient with me, knew exactly what I wanted, and (more importantly) what she had to do to get me there. She spent almost 6 hours with me, and I didn't mind a single minute of it. She went over and over my hair, making sure the color was perfect. She even asked kindly if she could correct the cut which of course I happily obliged. I walked out of the salon today completely relieved and transformed. Any woman knows how horrible it can be to have their hair ruined, and also what a relief it is to find someone who has the expertise and patience to make it beautiful again. Many thanks to the salon, and to Dulce who worked her magic on my hair today. I will definitely be coming back to this salon again. more

DULCE DULCE DULCE!!!!! I never write reviews. Blonde is tricky.....I have been to pretty much every renowned colorist in LA and I tell you not one has even come close to bringing me the results that I got after visiting this very chic salon in Brentwood. It was not an easy job, but Dulce made it seem effortless to correct my color. The minute I met her I felt I was in good hands. I could tell by the finished result that she really listened to me and her knowledge of color really impressed me. She took me to the very level of blonde I was hoping for with very little damage and did not try to push product on me. I can't wait to spread the word about this wonderful salon and will definitely be back when my roots start coming in . So far I can only vouch for Dulce, but I hear everyone there is extremely knowledgeable about color. Next time I am going to get a style as well. I will keep you all posted! Overall I am dissapointed with my experience here. I thought I'd give it a try due to all the raving reviews. I asked for Dulce and wanted help with my dark hair that I had been dyeing at home for the last year. She convinced me to get highlights, which I was very hesitant to do since they always turn out brassy. Nevertheless, I went forward with her suggestion. In the end I disliked it very much, but she insisted it looked pretty. I forked over the $200 (and with no style... that was an extra $50!). She was very nice, as is all the staff there I met, but I just don't think it is worth the money. I did ask for a portion of my money back which she did not do. She did correct it though with color glaze / toner and I felt satisfied when I left since it had improved, but now that a couple weeks has gone by, I can still see the rusty red highlights coming through and I am just not loving it. ... I should love it for $200. My advice is to know exactly what you want walking in and don't be afraid to say no to their suggestions. more

i made an appointment going by the last review and because no-one seems to be able to get my hair right! I've been to several other salons in and around the area and I am pleased to say I have NOW found my salon! From the minute I got there i could see they were good just by watching..... My appointment for color was with Terra, a very experienced stylist who definitely knows her color, and my haircut was with Kyeong also amazing (she cut my hair wet, then when it was dry told me she was going in again to personalize my new look) I LOVE IT.
