Updated 9/2006- I first went to Brittany over a year ago, after reading many positive reviews on Citysearch, and I've been going back regularly for highlights (Baliage) and haircuts ever since. I had been switching really often up until then, since previous hairdressers had been over-lightening my naturally blonde/ strawberry blonde hair. Brittany has a great eye for what works best for me, and she adjusts my highlights for Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring. I was just there last week, and she ""painted on"" three different shades of blonde, strawberry blonde and copper and gave my hair really nice depth for the Fall. I really love it! She also updated my cut, which makes me look 10 years younger (I wish). The tab for the highlights and cut seems in line with other salons on the Westside, especially when I consider what I've paid for mediocre services in Brentwood, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills during the last several years. Gillian was wonderful, she did exactly what i wanted her to do with my hair. I highly recommend this salon. It is laid back, the girls are friendly and it is unpretentious. Highly recommend Brittney. Went into Gillian after reading about it in Citysearch and it totally lived up to its standards. I went in with jet black hair and Brittney was not only able to remove the color and get me back to my natural dark blonde, but she did so without damaging my hair. After experiencing several salons in LA that were overpiced, not very good, or both, I finally landed on this gem. I got full highlights and a cut ($220), and my hair looks fabulous!!! These are some of the best highlights I have ever had. In addition, I got a free massage and conditioning treatment for free as part of the total experience. This is the BEST cut and color I have EVER had! I have spent so much money in my life on my hair and never has my it looked and felt better. I LOVE this place!!!!!! The atmosphere is great and the hairstylist that did my hair was AMAZING. When I left the salon my highlights look like they were growing out of my head they were so close to the scalp! I was referred to Gillian Bissett through one of my good friends, I honestly can't tell you how happy I am that I went to see her. I was first greeted at the door with a herbal facial towel (which was so nice) and that was just the tip of the iceberg. I was treated like a queen, the girls were just a breath of fresh air. I am so tired of going from salon to salon and dealing with stylists that don't LISTEN!!!! Well, I have found a gold mine. I have your average brown hair and have wanted a change but haven't wanted to deal with the up keep of a big change. The girl that did my hair was VERY patient and did an excellent job in communicating my opptions and all of the pros and cons of each choice. At the end of the day I did my base color and then did a few carmel high lights around my face and then did a golden glaze to add a little bit of a tonal change. I LOVE it. I went here to get my hair straigtened using some Japanese system. The woman who did my hair was AMAZING! My hair looks better than ever and I wish I had done this years ago.
