Mikey showed up on time the following day. He looked at the switch box and assessed a charge of $289. I foolishly failed to ask for the scope of work and assumed that he was going to cut out and replace the old box and switch - a 1.5 - 2 hour task.
In the end he roughly hacked out the drywall, installed a $15 metal mending plate and charged my wife $250 odd for 30 minutes of time worked and 20 minutes doing the billing. He did apply a $35 "coupon".
An appropriate charge would have been one hour labor plus parts- about $125 according to other tradesmen.
I can think of no circumstances under which I would call, or recommend, Christian Brothers for electrical work in the future.
I intend to copy this review to Yelp, Google, FB and the BBB as well as Angie's List.
