Kid and Adult Friendly 2/20/2012

We like coming here because the sushi is fresh. The conveyor system makes it fun for the kids to watch and they like being able to pick out non sushi items like noodles and tofu. Staff is very friendly towards kids. more

Blue C Rocks!! 4/12/2007

What can I say?!?! This place is the best! I've been to kaiten places throughout the world and believe me, this place is the REAL DEAL! The sushi is top quality, the atmosphere reminds of Tokyo and my kids and WALLET love it. We go twice a month and the staff knows us by name. I've never had a bad experience. Sometimes we have to wait to get in but it always seems to be well worth it. I wish I had thought of this idea! PS - try the Cream Puffs! They are better than anything you'll find in Seattle. Trust me. If you are in Univeristy Village ask Mr. Taka to make you something. more

Trendy atmosphere, good sushi 2/23/2007

Kaiten sushi is a wonderful invention! Blue C has a very trendy atmosphere, with anime playing to music on the wall. The call buttons for the waiters are nice so that you don't end up sitting around waiting for a drink refill or for your bill. The sushi isn't anything incredible, but it's good and it's right there on the conveyor belt, so you can sit down and dig in without having to wait. :) It's a good place to bring your sushi-fearing friends, since you can see the food before deciding whether or not to try it. more

Happy Hour!!!! 11/26/2006

I am picky like a 2 year old. When my family suggested Blue C Sushi in Fremont for dinner, I was disappointed. We ended up going for happy hour. There was no wait to get in, the decor is modern and cool with flat screen TVs showing anime films. We ordered HH beers with Amstels at just $2 each. I ordered a teriyaki chicken breast for $3. We also ordered cucumber, avocado and salmon rolls, edamame, veggie tempura and sake. All the food was $1-3. I couldn't believe it, I like sushi!! Everything was fresh, beautifully presented and delicious! The staff is very helpful and efficient. There is parking provided free of charge below, entrance is by the PCC. Happy Hour is 4-6pm every day. There is no HH at the University Village location. more

Great, even for non-sushi fans (like me!)! 11/16/2006

I ate at Blue C for the first time this weekend, and just went back again tonight! I don't like sushi, but there were quite a few options for me. The salad, edamame, dumplings, sesame salad and tempura were excellent. The staff was excellent and very attentive. Drinks are great, and their wine list, although limited, is very nice. I really enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc on their list. My sushi-lover friends adore this place, and it's surprisingly reasonable! more

Awesome Kaiten 9/15/2006

I think this place rocks. I've eaten at so many conveyor belt sushi joints where the operators clearly don't give a crap, but these guys are doing it right. I don't really mind that they stay very authentic without a lot of fusion rolls because in my experience fusion sushi is almost always a disappointment. Note: They don't put Hamachi on the belt but they have it and it's great. Just order it through your server or chef. The tofu with Chili sauce is outstanding as well. Lots of great vegetarian options...and the prices are great. more

decent sushi, great veggie options 8/25/2006

i've been to blue c a few times and can't rave about it - the sushi is unimaginative, the conveyor belt is often loaded with the same sushi for 5 or 6 dishes in a row, etc. but it's decent, it's fresh, and they have a TON of veggie options which makes it great for me to go there with hubby. veggie tempura rolls, tofu rolls, different noodle salads, and on. the prices are on the high side for conveyor belt sushi, but it's not a bad place to go. more

Warm SUSHI!?!?! 7/8/2006

Warm sushi. Enough said. more

Not bad 4/7/2006

I whent to Blue C for lunch today and got right in with no wait(I've heard that it gets very busy). It was good, not the best I've had but far from the worst. The salmon and maguro were really, really good. The sockeye salmon just melted in my mouth. The rolls that I tried seemed a bit off, somehow, I couldn't put my finger on it exactly, but I definately wouldn't get them again. The unagi could have been grilled a little longer, but I tend to like it a little crispier than a lot of places serve it, so maybe that's just me. The albacore was nice and their miso was really flavorful. I watched a few of the plates (one each of tempura, tobiko and scallop) circle the counter for the entire hour we were there, and I felt kinda sorry for the guy that sat down and grabbed one of them. If you watch what is being put out fresh, though, that's avoidable. A lot of times kaiten sushi is less expensive than a regular sushi restaurant, but that's not really true for Blue C. We ended up spending a little more than we normally do elsewhere, but it was fun just for a bit of a change. If I go again I'll stick with just the nigiri and some miso. more

Blue C, sometimes for me 4/2/2006

I'm a sucker for places where they sushi goes around on a boat. I don't know why exactly, it's something about having all that food there and getting to snatch whatever I want without needing permission from the. With that said, I've got mixed feelings about the Blue C in Fremont. Yes, the food goes around, and usually the staff is pretty attentive. However, there's bee a couple of occasions where we've had to beg for service. The food is okay, nothing that blows my mind in either freshness or variety. But it's reasonably priced, and it comes around on those little boats. Parking can be a nightmare unless you know to use the garage that's attached to PCC. more

Blue C Sushi: Sushi 101 3/17/2006

If you're looking to introduce someone to sushi, Blue C is the place to go. Many of the dishes are "safe" and easy (cucumber rolls galore!), and everything is labeled so you can see and read what it is you're getting. Blue C is a kaiten sushi restaurant, so the interaction with the food (watching it go by on the conveyer belt, picking out which one you want) can be fun and different. The food is comparable in price if not slightly less than other sushi restaurants. The only problem I encounter with kaiten sushi is how much I should tip the waiter. On the one-hand, he brought me my drink and calculated my bill. On the other hand, all he did was bring me my drink and calculate my bill. Decisions, decisions. Blue C is adorned with metal walls and non-traditional lighting that give the restaurant a decidedly cool, modern and almost sterile feel--which doesn't hurt if you're trying to convince someone over to the sushi world. There is a waiting area/bar upstairs, but I find the drinks a little pricey. more

A little too Institutional 3/17/2006

So we tried out this place because we heard it had the conveyor belt format. It was, what it was. There was definitely a conveyor belt, but I kinda thought the sushi was a little institutional tasting, kinda like the grocery store stuff. So, if you haven't been to a conveyor belt place, it's worth the experience, but the sushi's just not that great. All rolls & not a whole lot of unique things there. If you're after good sushi, try another place! more

Bland sushi, high prices 2/3/2006

This place can be novel if you haven't done the whole "sushi on a conveyor belt" thing. If you've done it, then there's no need to go here. They have just-ok sushi circling around the room and you can take whatever you want. It's quite expensive if you actually choose the good stuff and don't try to just get by on tofu and edamame, and I've never left here feeling satisfied. The sushi is pretty bland and the variety isn't great. I guess you can order stuff separately, but I've never done that, so I don't know how that works out. The atmosphere in this place is really cool though. They have a posh little bar upstairs, if you have to wait, and they often project japanimation or cartoons on the wall. Cool place, boring sushi, expensive. more

overrated 10/11/2005

I don't really get the fuss about this place. We went on a Tuesday evening and it took forever for us to get seated. The bar is a nice place to be trapped, but not for over 30 minutes. And then the sushi was mediocre, but what do you expect from stuff sitting on a conveyer belt? At least it's not too expensive. If you're in Fremont, go to Chiso's, or drive to Kisaku down in Wallingford/Tangletown, to see what sushi is supposed to taste like. more

Good value for the casual sushi lover 9/1/2005

The conveyor belt system means you don't need to wait for your food! The food is average for the casual sushi lover, and the raw salmon is highly recommended! The ambience is casual, good for a group of friends or family to get together. Some parts of the restaurant has bar-style seating that allows the lone diner to enjoy his food and be entertained by the sushi chefs behind the conveyor belt. Go before 6pm on Fri and Sat, line-up forms pretty quickly after that and the wait would usually be about 30 mins. more

Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover 8/30/2005

So yes, Blue C Sushi looks nice and pretty on the inside and out...and yeah, it's kind of cool that the food comes around on a converyer belt. But you know what's not cool? CRAPPY FOOD Maybe it's just me, but I'm picky about my sushi...and Blue C has spent way too much trying to make itself look fancy and too little on the food. If you want to go to a sushi place because it's the new fad or you want to be cool, go to Blue C. But if you want to go to a sushi place for good sushi...go somewhere else. more

Horrible! 8/30/2005

This restaurant, in the U-Village, is absolutely horrible! The services was bad, the food was not fresh and it was definetely not worth the money spent. The servers acted like they were sauve and cool, but really they were just rude and inconsiderate. I asked for a fork, and the waitress finally came over 15 minutes later and was like, "Uhh, sorry we don't have any forks. But I guess you can try a spoon?!?" While I understand it was a sushi place and people use chopsticks, some people are more comfortable using forks, and no offense but what restaurant, regardless of the cuisine, doesn't have ANY forks! ridiculous. They did not have a very good selection and the service seemed to be oblivious and "too cool for school!" Overall huge disappointment and not worth it. more

This place is B-A-D 8/25/2005

I had a horrible experience at the Blue C Sushi in Fremont - and I can't believe they actually get good reviews. I'm not a sushi snob but this sushi was B-A-D. It was not fresh at all and...we had to wait over an hour for a table and the waitress kept saying it was "only 15 more minutes!" If you want good sushi, here are some recommendations: Sanmi Sushi - Magnolia Yamashiro Sushi Bistro - north seattle. Both are off the beaten path a bit but well worth the drive! more

Yummy! 8/25/2005

This is a great retro restaurant that serves great Japanese food in a modern upbeat ambiance. So this is how it works: you sit down extremely quickly and you can eat within 30 seconds. You sit around a conveyor belt with food going around and around to pick up as you desire. Hot foods, rice rolls, deserts etc... are all at your grasp! It's just really yummy and serves as a quick meal or a modern family outing. Kids will love it! It is something new for them. Try it out. However, try to come before 9:00 because you feel rushed as you watch the kitchen crew (which is out on the dining floor) start to clean up 45 minutes before closing. more

Dining and entertainment all in one 8/21/2005

The Blue C Sushi restaurant is located in the heart of the universe, also known as Fremont. It has a loft bar and the restrooms are located downstairs below the restaurant. If you go to the Blue C, you must visit the bathrooms! I don't know about the mens, but the womens is covered with pictures of people in Japan dressed in some of the days fashions there. The fashion wall is a must see. Also the hand dryer is rather unusual, at least for Seattle. OK, now for the food. The sushi and other food is placed on little color coded plates and then set on a track that passes by the tables. You simply take what you want from the track. The food is really good. My favorites are avocado roll, the spinach with brown sauce and the tofu with chili sauce, edame and daikon sprouts. Each color plate is a different price ranging form $1.50 to $4.50. Most people probably spend about $10.00 to eat there, but you could get away with as little as $1.50, if you're not that hungry, or you could spend up to $20.00 or $30.00 depending on your selections. When you're all done, or if you need service, there is a blue button to push to summon the server. When finished the server will tally up the number of plates you have in each color and your drinks and present you with the bill. more
