Bernie's Automotive Service

I've been taking my Ford Ranger to Bernie's for about 12 years, both my current truck and the Ranger before it. Bernie's is honest and thorough each time. They troubleshoot, reccommend fixes, then they let me decide which fixes to authorize and which to wait on. No pressure, just quality assessments and and repairs. I live on Capitol HIll and since I retired, Bernie's is out of my way, but I continue to use them, because I trust them. It's worth the drive. Pros: null Cons: null more

Have used Bernie's on two occasions, and both were great experiences. The scheduling and actual service is prompt. They fix only what has to be fixed, guarantee thier work, and have it out in record time. The staff there are polite, personable, and professional. I have been a returning Bernie's customer for about 2yrs now. Every time I step foot into the shop, I am greeted with a smile and genuine interest in why I am stopping by. Patrick is always helpful and thorough in the assessment and explanation of the ailments of my vehicle. Not being very auto-savvy, I never feel pressured or taken advantage of when it comes to the repairs &/or maintenance of my truck. I will be a life-long customer of Bernie's and will continue to recommend Bernie's to my friends, family, or perfect stranger that might be stranded on the side of the road. We've been taking our vehicles to Bernie's Automotive for over 10 years. After many bad experiences at other mechanic shops a friend referred us to Bernie's and we never looked back. Will always handles our vehicles with the utmost care whether it's an oil change or some noise that we just can't figure out. Bernie's has always been honest when diagnosing our auto issues. The complimentary road side assistance has come in handy as well. Had a flat tire on a Saturday night and a service person was at my vehicle within 10 minutes! I've had the opportunity to be a customer at Bernie's Automotive, though that's not how my relationship with them started. I work in a related business, at Hertz Rent--a-car in Ballard. I've had the opportunity to share customers with Bernie's. I've always been impressed with the way customers talk about their experiences at there. They say they get great work at a fair price, and excellent treatment from Patrick and Will. I have worked with many auto shops in the area and am always impressed with the way I'm treated when I come in. Which is good, because not all shops are happy to see the rental car guys. It is hard to find a mechanic that will be straight forward and friendly, but I found one! My van wouldn't start one day, and I figured that it was the starter. I had it recently replaced at another place and had a warranty on it. Bernie's Automotive was part of the "Napa Autocare" program so I had it towed there. Basically, they had to work on my van with no cost to me, and they had a lot of other cars at their shop waiting to be worked on. Even though I wasn't a paying customer, Will called me everyday and kept me in the loop. They fixed the van in a timely matter and did a great job! Thanks again guys! more

I was referred to Bernie's through my physician after a bad experience with another mechanic a couple of years ago. I have since been a very loyal customer. Recently I needed to take my car in to have work done and my service experience was excellent. Will Ingle took care of everything. Not only was my car fixed, but Will even buffed out a small scratch on my car while I stood there. He always gives excellent customer service! I recommend Bernie's all the time. Will and his team at Bernies have totally given their complete ALL when it comes to handling any concerns we have for both of our cars. No matter what, they find a way to handle it with effortless ease and absolute professionalism. Coming from the service industry ourselves, we are truly thankful for the recommendation from friends to look into Bernies. And Boy do these guys know everything about cars AND superior service, that makes for a top rate auto experience. We have had many problems (replacement of a transmission twice for example) with one of our cars and seemingly strange that not one mechanic could figure it out, well not only did Bernies crew figure out the situation, but this car has been running smooth since under their care. I had my first experience with Bernies and couldn't of been happier! I've been trying to keep my chevy truck running like new so "Flash" advised me of doing a transmission flush and brake system flush. But due to my work schedule Patrick picked up my truck and delivered it back to me vacuumed out and all! My truck shifted smoother then ever and stopped amazing. I've been a customer at Bernie's for at least 15 years; I wouldn't go anywhere else, including the dealer. The last few years have been especially good--with Will at the front desk. He's so nice, and very knowledgeable about cars and problems since he started out as a technician. I feel secure that I won't ever be cheated or misled at Bernie's, and that their charges are reasonable and fair. I'm so happy that I have Will and Bernie's to rely on for my car service.
