Bernie's Automotive Service

I took my car in on July 4th and received it back with a list of items that needed to be replaced. I was going to be charged $1400 for items that didn't even needed to be replaced. They said I didn't need a thermastat and they said that they tested my car for over 20mins to see if it would over heat. BS!!Before I changed the thermastat it would over heat in a matter of minutes. I changed the thermastat and it worked. Nothing else wrong. I will never go back to Bernies to get false info about my car. more

Even though the mechanics ran into a seemingly unanswerable problem with my car, and I had to bring it back after it was supposedly repaired, Bernie's went through my car again, found the problem and got it taken care of at no further cost to me; including all towing costs. Nasty problem solved. more

Everyone is always so polite and understanding. I have had some real bizarre issues with my car and even though I got a little testy with the repair work, Will was patient and very kind in his approach. Thanks for all your help! more

Being a woman and not knowing a lot about engines or cars, I never feel that I am taken advantage of at Bernie's Automotive. I never feel pressured to fix something that isn't needed right away either. I've been to other mechanics and had them lie to me and say they replaced a part, when in fact, it was never replaced or tell me I needed something replaced that didn't need to be. Thank goodness my father, who knows a lot about cars and is a mechanic himself, was around and could check their work. I've recommended Bernie's to friends and they are happy with their work as well. more

I have had plenty of experiences with other places where you take your car in and they tell you to get this and that. At Bernie's Automotive Service, they don't want you to spend money if you don't need to. If it needs to be fixed immediately, they tell me, and if it can wait, they let me know I can wait. They are very trustworthy, and are really watching out for my best interests as a customer. more

I started dealing with Bernie's Automotive Service after the mechanic I was using retired and referred all his customers to them. I went there and was very satisfied. There is one particular serviceman I always request, Sam, because he is outstanding. I have two old cars. Bernie's Automotive solved a problem with my 1970 Mercedes that no one else could find. Sam figured it out by researching on the internet, and he found that it was an electrical problem. It was wonderful. The other car, a 1973 VW Beetle, has been kept in perfect condition by them. The two men who work in the office are very thorough. They will take my car in overnight so that I don't have to bring it in early in the morning. They provide wonderful service, and I have dealt with great men. more

They are very conscientious and very thorough. They are also very personable. There is a sense of trust with Bernie's Automotive Service. I feel well taken care of. I have been going to Bernie's for about three years. They have worked on my husband's car as well as my own. My husband has an older car, so they have brought things up to date, and they have provided mostly general maintenance on my car. If I need a ride, they take me home. And, they are very careful about keeping my interior clean. I am always happy to see them. I feel there is a level of commitment with Bernie's. more

I needed my car's rotors turned and new brake pads put on, but needed the car back the next day. They were able to complete all work by lunch time the next day, within a competitive price range. Bernie?s is great! I have been going to them, exclusively for three years now and I have never had a bad experience with them. They are thorough; they keep me well-informed about work they are doing on my cars; have a really professional, knowledgeable and customer-friendly staff; and they do great work. On top of that, they have a really clean and comfortable waiting room and are happily active in the community, offering discount cards that are a fabulous deal for their customers and which also help support the local high-school. Everyone I have sent their way has agreed, Bernie?s takes the worry out of getting your car worked on. I haven't had a mechanic I can trust since 2002 due to various career relocations. A coworker recommended Bernie's after I just dropped 1,200 on 4 engine mounts, a cv boot and an oil change at some other garage. She also gave me a card for a free oil change which is always a cool deal. I took one of our vehicles in and they even replaced the dead battery in her security remote at the same time. Everyone else has said, "Go to the dealer." These guys are absolutely awesome. When I walked in the front door they looked professional and obviously knew what they were talking about from the first words uttered. The mega plus: they didn't try and talk me into senseless replacements for things I knew didn't need to be done. They recommended realistic things that could be done next time I had the extra cash, and they assured me that a problem wouldn't leave me by the side of the road. BUT... if I was left with a disabled vehicle they also have free towing. I about slapped myself in the face to make sure I wasn't dreaming. They also gave me a rewards card which gives me a percentage back with every service done. I've NEVER had a mechanic that's done that even my favorite mechanic known as "Dad." I will definitely continue taking all our vehicles to Bernie's. Pros: Professional, well-mannered, knowledgable, efficient Cons: I haven't found any yet. more

I have been trusting the Pro's at Bernie's for years. My car receives service from no one else - oil changes, tire maintenance/repair and all the other things that need to happen to keep my car running well happen there - on time and without compromise! Being a woman, I have had the unfortunate experience of being taken advantage of by other mechanics in the past who assume i don't know how a car runs; this will not happen to you at Bernie's - you can count on that. i strongly suggest you give them a try, i'm sure you have many other things to stress over, leave your car care to them! I'm big into customer service and I'm always excited to see companies who understand the importance of this value! Bernie's has a great staff plus they are informative and friendly. They also have a customer care program where you receive a loyalty card, 5 % of what you spend there goes back on the card. In addition you also get roadside assistance! Bernie's is such a delight to take your car to. They are honest and give great service. I would recommend them highly to anyone who needs anything done on their vehicle whether it is an oil change or major work. They are fast and always have my car ready when they say they will. Always very friendly and accommodating. I took my car in for an oil change recently when it was extremely dirty, and when I came back to pick it up, it was spotless. Another time I dropped my car off and accidently forgot to leave the key. They were nice enough to send someone over to where I work to pick up the key from me. I came in to get my car diagnosed because my car was riding rough. The turn around on the diagnosis and getting my car fixed and back to me was super fast! They went over everthing that needed to be fixed and even were willing to show me pictures. Also, they went out of their way to work with me on the pricing. Very courteous and nice!!
