Best

From friendly service to fair prices, this shop has offered everything that I need to make me a repeat customer. I'm definitely going back.

Worst

I am an hvac technician and when I do repairs my company waives diagnostic fees. A repair that could have been done for 100 bucks cheaper would've ensured my return service. Howe...

Prompt, effective service. 8/20/2013

I came in for a/c issues but they also detected a broken water pump that was leaking. they took care of the problem promptly and car was ready at the time estimated. price was fair market. all my prior repairs in this facility were of good quality and chris is always courteous. more

Superb. First, I yelped it, and then the reviews came, I was pleased. As we all know, finding the right auto shop is one of the toughest things to do. My husband and I are new to the area and as I said were pleased with the yelps. The location was near us too. The towing was timely. From the first moment I spoke with Karl, I was sold, real nice guy. The diagnosis was quick and the repair quicker, they had a straight forward answer for every question that you knew was not BS. When we got there to pick up the car we noticed an art car in the drive, they said they service alot of the areas art cars. I was sold. You will feel comfortable here, I promise, almost at home. more

very good customer service 8/12/2013

Chris was very helpful. He was attentive with returning my calls & calling me back with explaining what my car needed. My first time going to the Auto Doc and I would return again. more

Convenient location and excellent service 8/7/2013

It's good to have a repair shop close to home, one that provides excellent work with a friendly attitude. Thank you. more

Pretty quick and efficient honest work 8/7/2013

They are honest about the work they do a little pricey but worth it. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/7/2013

Yes, this place was expensive, but you know what? I don't care at all. I hate dealing with my car, so when the brakes decided to go out on my car 4 days before I was scheduled to move across the country, I was really worried that this would be a nightmare. I had visions of taking the car to a shop and having it linger while everyone ignored me and then having to leave the stupid broken car behind. \r \r I called Auto Doc at 8:30 in the morning and explained my problem. He said that if I got it in by 12:30 it would be done by close. I was doubtful, but took off work and dropped it off. Rather than having to sit in a sad mechanic 's office, I had the option to hang out in the coffee shop which is run by the wife of the owner of Auto Doc. It was adorable and made me feel like my money was going to a good family who was a part of the community. However, the owner was able to drop me off at home, which was even nicer.\r \r They called a couple times to explain the issues my car had and the costing. Since I was moving I had a pretty tight budget (moving is expensive...) and they helped me prioritize the repairs I could make at that time and took the time to write out a list of the other things I would need to fix after my move. As someone who hates cars, the time they took to dumb it down (they explained what it would sound like when the next things broke so I would know what was wrong) was appreciated and didn't come off condescending. They completed repairs by 3:30 in the afternoon and I was on my merry way.\r \r Overall, of course I wish it cost less, but honestly I feel this was money well spent. I usually go to the cheapest option and they never told me that my car was getting close to needing repairs (for example, no one ever told me my tires were bad or the brake pads were almost gone, even after paying them to look the car over). I will be sucking it up and laying out money for a place like this in the future. If I had gone to them in the first place I probably could have avoided costly repairs with some simple maintenance. The service was great, the speed is great and both of those things were worth the money. I don't feel taken advantage of at all. I highly recommend this shop! more

Above and beyond! 7/26/2013

The water pump in my jeep went out, I fumbled with the idea of how to get it to a reputable mechanic. A tow truck of course, covered by my insurance. It sat for 4 days. Then, am I sure it's the water pump? Who do I take it to, affordable? I call around for quotes and everyone said I needed to bring it in before a quote could be given. Ugh, how...only one source(tow truck), a one time trip. I'd be stuck. I called this awesome place and Dave answers, I explain my situation. He offers to come by the house and look at it before bringing it(few blocks away). A real relief, honest place. It made me feel safe. Within less than 4 hrs my water pump/cooling system was replaced and flushed. Thank you Dave for driving over, checking out my jeep and swapping cars to drive it to your shop. I wasn't feeling safe to drive it. Awesome experience!!!! Thank you! I will be back. more

Very surprised at the negative reviews. This is the friendliest, most honest car shop I have been to in Houston. Yes, agree, the prices could be better. But after getting horrible service at some other places, I realized that I would rather pay a little more to be treated respectfully by honest and professional staff. more

Outstanding Customer Service 7/23/2013

I picked these guys because it's by far the closest place for me. I can walk here from my house. I finally got some work done that I had been putting off. Like others have said its not the cheapest place around but they get the work done quickly and explain everything before doing the work. I own an import so I was worried they'd have to get parts shipped in but luckily everything was in stock. If you need quick service this is the place. more

Thorough & Honest 7/16/2013

As always you did a great job on my vehicle. It was only a routine oil change but I feel better knowing you've done your inspection and there weren't any concerns. more

Good job 7/9/2013

The staff was awesome and friendly. Fixed my problem promptly and at a fair price (I thought so anyway). Thanks. more

I keep using AutoDoc 7/9/2013

Fast, courteous, competitively priced, if you have a coupon it's even better. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 7/2/2013

Maybe I caught these guys on a good day... But I have a hard time believing that.\r \r Despite some damning reviews on Yelp, I took a chance on Auto Doc for some pretty major repairs on my car because they promised same-day service and I couldn't afford to wait several days. So let me tell you about my experience.\r \r First of all, the customer service is exceptional. I've put up with mechanics' poor communication skills in the past, so I was pleasantly surprised to hear a professorial voice on the other end of the line when I first called. Did I dial the Museum of Fine Arts by mistake? Nope, it was Dave, who apparently is the owner. Anyway, it was approaching noon, and Dave tells me he can have the repairs done by late afternoon. No begging or insisting required. Hmm, maybe these guys aren't busy enough, I thought, but okay.\r \r Long story short, I pick up the car later that afternoon as promised. Dave gives me an enthusiastic tour of my repairs, complete with demonstrations. All this after I made him wait half an hour past closing time for me. The whole time, I feel like I'm his only customer. The car was freshly washed, by the way. No big deal, but a nice little mint-on-the-pillow detail that shows that they think of the little things.\r \r As for the actual work, my car was cured. The diagnosis was the same as the one I got from a trusted mechanic in my hometown, which was reassuring, and the quotes were comparable as well. Dave let me know what other repairs and routine maintenance he recommended, which I didn't mind, because he wasn't pushy about it, and didn't talk down to me.\r \r What can I tell you? They were very fast and did a great job. Glad I took a chance on them more

Editorial review from Citysearch 6/26/2013

This place epitomizes the old saying ""We do work that is fast, good, and cheap; pick any two.""\r \r I find them to be fast and good. If you're looking to save a buck, you should probably shop around a little, but when you want it done right, they do it right, they meet the deadlines they promise, and they stand behind their work. I had a repaired item fail nearly a year after they'd originally fixed it. It was under warranty, so they repaired it again, quickly and for free. Respect.\r \r Under all the cutesly old gas station signs, this is a a clean, friendly, well-run, and seemingly honest place to get your car repaired. And yes, sometimes your repair bill should come with a free tube of personal lubricant, but on balance, I think it beats the crap out of being overlooked, lied to, and ultimately STILL gouged by the sleazy repair thieves at the dealership. more

As a female, I am always worried that I am going to get screwed when it's time for some auto repair on my 2003 element. Well these guys couldn't have been more honest. I showed up at 9 on a tuesday morning expecting to just make an appointment to bring my car back at a later date. However, they were able to take my car right then, and have it back to me by 5:30 the same night. Before they did any work, they called to tell me what was wrong and what needed to be fixed. They also told me some things could wait if I didn't want to spend all the money at once, which has never happened to me before. Chris is very friendly and walked me through everything. I have found my new mechanics. I will never go anywhere else! more
