$10.29 seats are available for any game, from the day tickets go on sale. They do *not* have to be bought day of. Seats up high miss out on some of the "bone-crunch" of hits, but if you're the sort of hockey fan that likes to watch the plays develop, the ends (333 and 314) in the upper deck are great seats. I've sat down low a few times and just can't follow the game as well as when I'm hanging out in the nosebleeds. There are college specials that give you discounts on lower-level tickets and non-$10.29 seats in the upper deck day-of-game, but that's risky if you really want to go. Usually between some promotion or another, you can find a discounted ticket. Concessions, as with every major sport, are outrageous - eat out or tailgate before the game and wait til you get home to unwind with that beer.
