If you are worried about getting spine surgery, go see Dr. Hsu or Dr. Zucherman at St. Mary's Spine Center for a consultation. They use cutting-edge technology and St. Mary's is the training center for ultra-modern, life-changing procedures such as FlexiCore and ProDisk artificial disk replacement. I was a cripple for over 20 years, using canes, crutches, back braces, and medication, and was entirely limited in what I was able to do. Even sitting at a desk was out of the question, let alone hiking or riding a bike. Now, three years after my surgery I am better than I was at the age of 20 (I am 43 now). I have NO pain, have complete flexibility, and got my life back. I am looked after incredibly well by the good people at St. Mary's. If your doctor has told you that you are a lost cause, or has suggested fusion, or refuses to do anything other than give you medication and physical therapy for chronic spinal pain, please make an appointment and go get a consultation. You may just be a candidate for a life-changing procedure.\r \r They don't pay me to do this, honest. I just want to share my experience with others who may benefit. Pros: excellent care, cutting edge technology, medical study participation possible
