Review content:
My wife and I stopped going here a few years ago after coming across a long hair baked into our papad. However, since our favorite, Bengal Express has closed, we decided to give Baluchis a go again. We ordered Rogan Josh, Chicken Korma, and our favorite Saag Paneer. When we bravely inquired about getting papad and sauces to start, we got it and were told they don't have onion relish (which I love). So we get our food - bland, bland, bland. The Korma barely had a flavor, the chicken had none, there was fruit in it (another reviewer wrote about this), and I think we had cashews instead of almonds. The Rogan Josh, bland, but the quality of the lamb was decent despite this. The Saag Paneer, tasted like bland steakhouse creamed spinach (Seabrook frozen creamed spinach tastes better), but at least it seemed fresh. Now here's the best part, we get the check and they charged us $2 for the papad that is COMPLEMENTARY at practically every indian restaurant - the waitress never mentioned this. When I asked, the manager complained that prices went up - yeah, I understand how this works pal, I live here. I told him the food was bland. He took it pretty well considering I was being blunt about my disappointment. BUT THEN, we overhear him tell a table of Indians that he doesn't trust Americans opinions as much as Indians. Oh yeah!? Well you're in America pal, I know good indian food, and your place is awful. Trust all the negative views about this pompous manager and note that the only good reviews are from years ago. AVOID THIS PLACE! Pros: The food seemed fresh Cons: Bland food, horrible management/service
