Review content:
When Blue Ice first opened, their schtick was ""we're the non-LoDo bar."" It holds true for the most part. I find their cocktails reasonable - their martini glasses are bigger than the overrated Funky Buddha's glasses. And Blue Ice is very spacious, which is always a treat considering how crowded most Denver bars are.
The let down is definately the sound system. Instead of having a full sound that fills the room, the music blares out of the speakers in one direction. The DJ's are bland, but then again I'm not a fan of the unimaginative, repetative House music that patrons insist on hearing in every nightclub in the world.
As a resident of the area, Blue Ice is a good place for me to get a drink before going home. I recommend getting there before the boring, blaring music begins. A final note, they have an excellent martini list.
