When a friend moved to Columbus from Chillicothe several years ago, she called and told me I had to get a haircut from Mindi - she gets curly hair. I've lived in Chicago, Philadelphia, New Orleans, you name it and have never had someone ""get"" my hair the way Mindi does. I have curly hair, with a straight layer on the bottom which can be really challenging for some people. A stylist at a more pretentious salon in Columbus said ""Oh just scrunch it like this!"", but Mindi realized that this layer needs to be cut differently. A year ago, I came in and asked Mindi to cut my hair like an advertisement I'd seen, but didn't have with me. She said, I've seen the ad, we can't cut your hair exactly like that because your hair texture is different, your face shape is different, but we can give you that look. It was a big step because it was from long and curly to short and curly, which could be disasterous. It was AWESOME! Now I'm growing it out again, and instead of being awkward, I still have great hair. I've recommended Mindi and Akada to several of my friends, and they've all been happy with the results.
