I had my first ""Akada experience"" today, and it was a very positive one. The salon is very clean, nicely lit, and inviting. An offered drink of water/tea/coffee was a nice touch. But the star of the show was my hair stylist - Amanda Fannin! She was very attentive to my needs and was meticulously following our plan for my new look. I would definitely be back! more

went to Akada for the first time last week, scheduled my appointment with Mackenzie! I had colored my hair out of a box at home and messed up my roots and when I went in she knew exactly how to fix it! She gave me an all over color and then subtle, perfect highlights!! I think Akadas prices are VERY reasonable and Mackenzies service was perfect :) BOOK WITH MACKENZIE! more

I have gone to Akada several times now and the staff there is AWESOME! Everyone is always so friendly. Everytime I go everyone is always smiling and laughing, and that is very refreshing to see in a business. I need to give Samantha a little love, because she gave me the best shampoo ever. \r \r I would definitely recommend this Salon to anyone! more

I have been getting my hair cut with Mindy at Akada for the past 3 years or so. I have very naturally curly hair.The first time I visited, I had been wearing my hair straight and was not ready to wear my hair curly. Mindy understood and cut my hair so that if I wanted to straighten it, I would easily be able to. Later on, I decided to stop flat-ironing my hair and embrace my curly hair, and Mindy cut it specially to enhance my curls.She is great at listening and working with people. In addition, she is truly talented at creating haircuts that work for curly hair. And if you are someone who likes to wear your hair both curly and straight at different times, Mindy will recommend a cut that works both ways. It is worth the extra drive for me to go to Akada. I have seen a few other hairstylists there, and they are all great! more

Mindy is an incredible hair stylist. My sister and I both have very curly hair, and Mindy is the first person to cut it and make it look its best. She cuts great layers, and cuts from the bottom and the top, so my hair isn't completely frizzy like it used to be. Mindy is great with curly hair, and I highly recommend her :D more

Mindi H. is the most brilliant stylist. She works miracles with my combination curly/wavy hair, which is why I've been going to her exclusively for over five years. Before Mindi, my hair was always high maintenance due to its texture. With Mindi, I'm finally able to let my hair dry naturally into a great style, which saves me a lot of time, money, and damage. Strangers have actually stopped me to ask which salon I use, and there's no better compliment than that. Whether it's a cut or color, I'm always extremely pleased with the results. I recommend Mindi to everyone. I only wish I'd discovered her 20 years earlier! more

Arlene is an awesome stylist! My hair is impossible. thick, coarse, frizzy... it has a mind of its own. Arlene works with my hair, not against it. Whether we decide to accent my curls, or go for the straight and sleek look, My hair always looks amazing and the products she suggested to me work perfectly with my hair type. She's skilled,thoughtful,talented professional and really considers the hair she is working with and what it naturally wants to do and what cut/style is going to work best with it. thanks Arlene! more

My first experience to Akada was a success thanks to MacKenzie. Her energy and passion helped me feel very comfortable in the studio and would highly recommend her to anyone. I didn't know how I wanted my hair style and left it up to her and she did a great job, and I will continue coming back for years to come! more

I just wanted to take the time to give a little love to the front desk staff of Akada Hair Salon. The reception area is the heart and soul of a great salon. It is the first and last stop on your regular salon visit. They set the tune for customer service in the hair care industry. Without a solid front desk staff, everything else would be chaotic. Akada Hair Salon's front desk crew of Kristi Greenlief and Kat Bernazzoli is a prime example of this solid foundation. These two women run a well oiled machine that make the stylists jobs much easier and efficient. Kristi and Kat have a big job to attend to from answering phones, checking clients in and out, printing out schedules, ordering product, scheduling clients, and the list goes on. All of these are tended to in a very friendly and professional manner. The reception area of a salon is an often overlooked key element to a great experience. I for one think that these women should definitely be recognized for their hard work and dedication to one of the best industries in the world. Thank you Kristi and Kat for all you do. more

I highly recommend Mackenzie because of her creativity in hair styling design. She quickly knew what style of hair cut would accentuate my face and then commenced with an up to date cutting style. I am very pleased with the experience I received. more

Mackenzie is an amazing stylist! 4/26/2013

I get my hair cut and colored with Mackenzie. I am always satisfied with the great job she does! She listens to what I want and has great ideas if I'm not sure. Mackenzie is very professional, knowledgeble, friendly, and helpful. I have been to other stylists, but she is by far the best! I feel very fortunate to have Mackenzie as my stylist. Also, Akada salon as a whole is so great! Pros: Caring and knowledgeable staff more
