After several hours on a hot August afternoon in search of a healthy, reasonably priced Taxus Cap, I had about given up. Then someone recommended I try American Nursery. They had two decent bushes on the site, but when I asked if they had more to choose from, they said they could pick up more from their other lot and have them there the next day. When I told them I really wanted to get one immediately because I had a friend available that day to help me plant it, they freed up one of the staff to drive across town with me to look at their secondary supply yard. There I had my pick of about 8-10 additional bushes. I was able to pick the exact size, shape, and condition I wanted. They carefully loaded it in the car for me, and let me call back to the store via cell phone to charge it on my credit card, so I could just take my purchase and go.
