So my friend and I were on the hunt for a new place to try out since we were in the Charlotte area. We pretty much just used the GPS to find the nearest place that served sushi and fortunately, Tanaka caught my eye! I was praying that it wasn't just a hole in the wall. Once we arrived, it was in a nice little community shopping centre. Since it was our first time there, we were thinking that there would be a server to get us menus and everything so we just sat down. Then we realized the ""Order here"" sign above the register. Lol. We got up and looked at the sushi menu and decided to order the Rainbow, Spider, and Volcano roll. And that being said, since it's Monday, it was half off speciality rolls! The rolls were already a reasonable price as is, but half off was even better! We also placed an order of fried gyoza. We sat down and waited roughly 10-15 minutes then our gyoza came out. It was 6 pieces for $3 and they were quite decent. The sauce seemed like it was just regular soy sauce though but the dumplings alone were great. About 3-5 minutes after finishing our gyoza, our sushi came out! I was really impressed with how great each roll tasted. To be honest, for the prices I was expecting something that would just be thrown together but the arrangement was adorable and everything looked perfect. Not only was the food great, but the service is awesome! The guys there are so nice and friendly. How could anyone say no to that?! Overall, Tanaka made such a great first impression on us that we will definitely be heading back whenever we are in the area again!
