WOW! The Blount Mansion is as historical as they come.....William Blount also had a high school named after him, which I went to.....GO GOVS! Anyways back to Blount Mansion its a great experience for new comers to the area and old timers :) History is everywhere in the mansion!

Recently Visited after learning of the this fantastic, one of akind place called Beck Cultural Exchange Center! Loved going there more than other one! Very exciting and educational! Kids are garunteed to have fun learning here! Great for field trips, or summer trips! All kinds and ages of peopel are allowed and welcomed here! great place, a little small but thats it! Great Place!

Hanson Gallery is great place to browse. They carry a variety of art styles. The prices are pretty affordable too. You can find cool prints suitable for framing for about $40. They also feature artists and sell much more expensive works. Hanson's always has great holiday gifts too. The best time to shop is right after Christmas. I have found the most beautiful glass ornaments there at half price. Quality works are shown but the staff are not always educated about the artists whose works are shown.

Fountain City Art Center is one of a kind! Great original art pieces and exhibits! All art is wonderful and appealing to kids! Wonderful for trips or summers! One visit is not nearly enough to take in all the art! Great for those boring weekend with nothing to do! Great for all ages! Very entertaining and educating! Great for studies of artist! Great opportunity for locl artisit to be put in a gallery!

The Beck Cultural Center is currently located at Volunteer Landing, but I think they are doing some major renovations and will be moving soon. Regardless, they have a lot of nifty history about the area, especially with regards to the civil rights movement. The staff are very knowledgeable, but the exhibits aren't interactive. Be prepared to read.
