Dan and Jay have been helping Seattle oenephiles for decades now -- and more importantly, building a repoire with the winemakers who serve them. Although (in typical Seattle fashion), the stores are small (Queen Anne more so than the Ravenna spot), if these guys don't have it in stock, they know when/where/how much they can get. These guys remember the palettes of their individual customers, and are able to recommend wines that they think follow the preferences of each of their clients. Whether you are just beginning to taste and collect, or you have a Master Sommelier medal, these guys are a card that needs to be in your Rolodex. If you have any intent on purchasing frequently, spend the bucks to join their buyer's club. You'll save real $$$ in no time.
