Good BBQ, but not the "cheap eat" spot it gets billed to be 6/28/2005

It's undeniable that the BBQ at Capital Q is top notch, but after reading about it as one of the inexpensive spots to get ribs or brisket, one of my texan friends and I were shocked when we walked in and saw the prices. Maybe they've realized what a good thing they've got going and jacked up the rates. My pulled pork sandwich was worth the $6.50, but I wouldn't have shelled out the cash for the cow. Also, neither of us were impressed with our sides (mashed potatoes and cole slaw) which seemed mediocre at best. Why is it that we Washingtonians just can't seem to get BBQ right even when it's done by someone exported from Texas? more
