Playwright Cafe

Thursday, June 16, 2005
The Playwright is located on Broadway and has two distinct sections for the bar and the restaurant. They have a working fireplace that they use during the winter. I've never been dissatisfied by a meal here, but I've never been thrilled, either. The menu is somewhat limited, but includes typical pub-type fare with a couple of Mexican dishes. I've tried: + Buffalo chicken salad (OK) + Reuben sandwich (not cooked enough, cold in the middle) + Vegetable quesadilla (pretty good) + Chicken ranch roll-up (was supposed to be spicy but wasn't) While the food isn't great, it's a decent sit-down restaurant in an area without many choices.
