There's nothing too jazzy about choosing your dry cleaner, but dependability is a must. We have always been satisfied with Anton's. They have never lost an article, and they have had success in removing some tough stains.
Prices are a little steep compared to chains like Zoots and Dependable Cleaners. However, they accept competitors' coupons and have a frequent cleaners program that evens it out.
My husband gets his shirts done there every week, and they come out well. They have also replaced several buttons for free, as the shirts really take a beating in the process.
All in all, I would recommend this cleaner.

This is quite possibly the best ice cream spot in the world! They offer traditional window service in a rural setting. There's a large pasture surrounding the shop with cows happily grazing. You know that your ice cream is fresh when you can actually see the cow!
My favorite flavor is coconut chocolate almond. Fantastic! Servings are huge, so be warned before ordering that your small may actually be quite large.
Another warning, they don't offer jimmies here for some reason, but that's OK since you really just want to taste the delicious ice cream.

This local standby draws a huge crowd, particularly on weekends and hot summer nights. Crescent Ridge has a huge variety of home-made ice cream flavors. My favorite is the low-fat coffee heath bar crunch, but many others swear by the grapenut.
The location is ideal with a large pasture surrounding the store, populated by content cows who occasionally wander towards the fence to let the kids pet them.
Crescent Ridge also sells ice cream to go in gallons, as well as fresh milk, chocolate milk and ice cream cakes. Regular delivery service is available.

This is primarily a take-out restaurant, although some seating is available if you prefer to eat there.
The menu is typical Chinese fare, but look for specials hand-written on paper plates behind the counter. These are authentic meals based on fresh ingredients in the Chinatown markets.
Another benefit is the open kitchen where you can watch your food being prepared. There is a seating area for you to wait for your order.
The food is good and fresh - great when you're in a hurry.

Located in an unassuming strip mall, this Mexican restaurant is a hidden gem, offering authentic meals at great prices.
We have tried a full variety of dishes here, including tacos, fajitas, enchiladas, chimichangas and burritos. My favorite is the Mexican omelet with cheese, beef, and beans. Delicious! Their margaritas are great, too, and the staff is friendly and offers great suggestions.
There is often a wait and they encourage you to wait at the bar. However, the bar is TINY, so if there is anyone else there, you feel squished in.
The salsa is fresh and delicious, and they have just started marketing it in grocery stores.

Both my husband and I go to Dr. Rapoport for our vision exams and to purchase contact lenses and glasses. His office is conveniently located in downtown Canton, and it is always very clean.
Dr. Rapoport gives a great exam and was successful in treating my husband's astygmatism so that he could see better than ever before. He also offers great advice on getting the best value for your insurance allowances.
The drawback with this office is the reception help. There seems to be a revolving door of high-school-aged girls. This wouldn't bother me, but it seems that they annoy the doctor and he reprimands them in front of patients. This has happened on more than one occasion.

We prefer to keep our business local and the Bank of Canton gives us the security of a large bank with the perks of a small local bank.
We have our mortgage through the Bank of Canton and got a great rate and were able to work face-to-face with our mortgage representative.
We also have checking and savings accounts that pay good interest and have no fees whatsoever. The bank is part of the SUM network so it's also possible to find lots of ATMs without fees too.
Finally, they have on-line banking which is a great feature, as well as an automated telephone service which makes it easy to keep up to date on account info.

I shouldn't share my secret, but Talbot's has an outlet store on Route 3A that is great!
This is a REAL, traditional outlet, not one of the big outlet malls that seem to be taking over America. I have found beautiful suits there for $20 and less. There are often sales with up to 75% off the lowest ticketed price, allowing me to get items for up to 90% off the original price (yes, 90%!). These are the same items that were in the regular Talbot's stores with the original tags noting the intermediate markdowns.
The store also has a small shoe department and some kids stuff. There is a section devoted to samples (usually selling pants and such for $15) as well as a section of some damaged/irregular merchandise.

I've never been dissatisfied by a meal here, but I've never been thrilled, either. The menu is somewhat limited, but includes typical pub-type fare with a couple of Mexican dishes. I've tried:
+ Buffalo chicken salad (OK)
+ Reuben sandwich (not cooked enough, cold in the middle)
+ Vegetable quesadilla (pretty good)
+ Chicken ranch roll-up (was supposed to be spicy but wasn't)
While the food isn't great, it's a decent sit-down restaurant in an area without many choices.

This is a great spot to take a tour, sample some beer, and check out great gear.
The Harpoon Brewery is a working brewery with a small visitors center. They have daily tours and tastings where they describe the beer-brewing process and the different types of beer made by Harpoon. Samples are available during the tour. You can also step out onto a catwalk over the brewery to see the big vats and kettles.
You can buy fresh beer on tap to drink there or take home. There are also lots of neat Harpoon items to purchase such as t-shirts, bumper stickers and pint glasses. You can also get special limited-batch beers when they're available.
The tour would be better if you could actually go out into the brewery instead of just on the catwalk, but you can understand why not since it is a working brewery.
