I recently took a little drive (18 hrs) from Fl to TX to visit a friend and found the greatest place while I was there: the Lufkin Zoo. They had such a wide variety of amazing animals. My favorite were the peacocks! They are so gorgeous. We loved to watch them dance around us with their feathers proudly displayed. I think its mating season because the male peacocks were moving all around and shaking their feathers at the females which was pretty cool to watch. All of the animals were so friendly and active. I just hate it when you pay admission to get in a zoo and then don't get to see any animals cause they are all hidden or inside their houses or removed from their cages or whatever! But not at the Lufkin Zoo! The river otter came out and swam for us. The monkeys played on ropes for us. The hippos even did some fancy moves! Over all, this was a great place to visit!
