Louie M's is an Omaha institution. Their forte, of course are burgers. Large 1/3-pound hand-patted burgers available in a variety of styles. Due to the burger's girth, don't be surprised if the inside is a bit pink...if this troubles you I'd definitely mention it when ordering. Baskets of thin-cut fries are huge and also come in the cheese or chili-cheese variety. For a real treat try the Chili Cheeseburger - this monster is served open faced: a bun half on either side of the plate, the big hamburger slapped in the middle, a big pile of chili over everything, a scattering of cheese and then a whisper of onions...ahhh heavenly. Nice selection of hot sauces on the tables, too. Many other sandwich/grill selections are available for the non-burger types, breakfast is also served all day. Be careful of the hours. I believe they are open like 10am-3pm during the week and also (starting just over a year ago) they are open in the evenings on Friday and Saturday with a less burger-centric menu available. If the hours are a problem there is a location out in Papillion - but it just ain't the same.
