The Texas Tech Library is the most extensive in the West Texas area. It houses 6 floors full of books of all kinds: reference, fiction, non-fiction and others. Physically shaped like a stack of books, it is quite literally shelf after shelf of books. It also contains many computers connected to the internet and you don't have to be a student to use them. Before going, my only word of caution is to be wary of parking, because if you park in the parking lot without a permit, you will get ticketed.

The Buddy Holly Center is often the first stop for tourists in Lubbock; it houses memorabilia from the acclaimed artists life which is both intersting for his old and newer fans alike. But the center is also displays art that is of a new nature, art that is both thought provoking and provacative. Located in the Depot District and symbolized by the giant glasses which Buddy Holly wore, the center definitely makes for a interesting day.

More
Godeke Library is one of the gems of Lubbock. Its scenic location next to the lake makes it one of the best places in town to curl up with a book and enjoy life. It offers a wide selection of books (although not very extensive). Its children's section is quite unparalleled with its many books targeted towards younger readers. Its staff is also some of the best, with weekly group meetings and the like.

More
The Mahon Libarary houses the largest collection of books withing the Lubbock Public Library System. It has extensive reference and childrens areas housing both new and old books. It also houses many computers with high speed access (which is really convenient because it is free to the public) and also a collection of dvds and vhs movies. The only drawback is its location in downtown Lubbock, which can be an inconvenience.

Jon Randles is one of the best speakers I've heard in my life. He is moving and you can tell he is truly a man of God. He is not afraid to tell you how he feels nor tell you what the Bible says. We need more people like this in our world.

More
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (or Mormon) Temple houses a pure gold bugler on the top. But the Mormons are more than a rich community that tithes and rides around on bikes proslytizing. They are a group of really nice and open people (though a bit severe by modern standards) and will gladly talk to you about their beliefs. Although only members can enter the temple, they are really quite interesting.

Club Luxor, on the outside it is is just like any normal bar, but on the inside it iis really something quite different. Before you go there, the most important thing to know is that the club is the town's "gar club". This doesn't mean that heterosexuals do not frequent the club, but the majority of the people at the club are homosexual-oriented. That being said, the club is actually quite nice and the music and dancing is good. Just beware!

Not to bad an association. Nothing compared to Dallas Soccer Association but not bad. My only complaint is the teams they put you on. Why don't they match you with other kids in your area? We had to drive a long way for practice and the kids played with other kids they didn't know at all!
