Well I admit I am a little bias when it comes to toy stores (love Toyworks), Toy West is a nice alternative to Toys R Us. They have a good selection of dress up, Thomas the Train, lamaze, and others.
The prices for the toys that the chain stores carry are considerable higher but otherwise the prices are in line.
The bins upfront have fun stocking stuffer type toys for the holidays, though some of our family favorites are often sold out. I find myself at this store when I have waited for the last minute for a gift, since they stay open with the mall hours.
