I enjoyed reading the others' rave reviews and may consider trying these guys again. I've had Petit Fours from Ambrosia that were heavenly, I'll give them that. However, a colleague requested their Strawberry Cake for his birthday (I've heard other rave about this too) and I wasn't impressed. Admittedly I'm not a big strawberry person, but this was less of a cake and more cool whip and berries with some dry cake mixed in. I'm sure it comes down to personal taste, but I'd go to Baum's any day over Ambrosia.

Everything you need for a party can be found at Party Time on Airline Highway in Baton Rouge. They have a large selection of party supplies for any type of celebration - from tailgating to holiday to bachelorette to wedding to baby showers, etc. Invitations come in big supply here - right down to design your own. Decorations, party favors, inflatables, costumes are also offered here. If you need it at a party - it is here - if it is not here, then you don't need it. They are a little pricey but their selection is worth it.

I have just recently discovered Maxwell's Market on Corporate Blvd. It is a wonderful little store with a great selection of foods for lunch. They have a full menu of different sandwiches and salads. When I went there I opted to get a Grilled Vegetable Sandwich and they accommodated my changes to the sandwich very nicely. They also have a variety of delicious homemade salads; such as pasta salad and potato salad. I also purchased some of their Seafood dip and it was also wonderful. Everyone at my office kept coming over and taking it. So if you are looking for a fantastic lunch spot, try Maxwell's Market, you won't be sorry!

Whatever kind of chocolate you're looking for, this place will have it. They also have other candies like fruit flavored, pralines, etc. if you don't like chocolate. Our company had custom chocolate bars made for our christmas party, and they were a hit. Pricey, but well worth it

I would suggest going to Reed's Jewelers in Cortana Mall. My daughter wanted an opal ring so I took her shopping. She found the one she wanted at Reed's Jewelers. The ring was a beautiful opal with diamonds on each side of it. The ring also came with a necklace and earrings to match. At that time I only purchased the ring. I kept her birthday and Christmas in mind for the other ones. The folks at Reed's were so helpful showing her everything they had that fit the idea of what she wanted. They did this without pressuring her to buy. She found the ring she wanted and the salesperson suggested I buy insurance on the ring in case of damage. Opals are very fragile, so this was a very good suggestion. I bought the insurance and the ring that night.
Christmas came and so did a coupon for $25.00 from Reed's. I was pleasantly surprised. I took the coupon and went back and purchased the earrings for her. She got these for Christmas and was thrilled.
Reed's also sent me a coupon for $50.00 when my anniversary came round in June.
These are some of the nicest folks to do business with. The store is beautifully set up.. You can browse the showcases easily without bumping into other people shopping. The merchandise is exceptional. The selection of jewelery can't be beat anywhere.
With the holidays fast approaching, go to Reed's and buy a little bling for everyone on your shopping list.

Kadair's on Florida Boulevard is wonderful. Their customer service and knowledge make purchasing electronics a pleasure. We have purchased cameras, lenses, TVs, stereo equipment, film and developed photos from them for years and have NEVER been less than happy with their product.
Their staff is highly knowledgable, friendly and accomodating (when trying to get last minute things they always help out).
After taking 5 rolls of film to Walgreens 8 years ago (after a 10-day vacation to Hawaii) and having it all ruined because the machine broke I found Kadairs...I suppose my lose was a blessing in disguise.

I find their prices to be a little high, but the quality is very good, and the service is very professional. The staff is knowledgeable and willing to work with you if you have special projects.

I have used Computer Evolutions twice in the past. The first time I had a speaker problem, and they installed a new sound card. They charged a reasonable flat rate, $40-50 if I remember correctly. The second time, I had a monitor problem that they weren't able to fix, and I was not charged for their consultation. The staff seems to be very knowledgeable, and I will go there in the future for any other computer problems.

I love Hancock fabrics. My daughter and I get most of our fabrics and some general sewing supplies there. They have wide variety of sewing and crafty type things. The workers are always friendly and helpful. Prices are fair, and their location is convenient if you travel Baton Rouge frequently
