Really great entainment for kids and parents 8/18/2005

This is a really great little museum for Tucson. I took my nieces there several years ago and didn't remember much. A month or so ago we took my nieces and my nephews, ages 4, 5, and two seven year olds. I wasn't expecting much was really pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed ourselves. There is a great range of activities and fun stuff to do. There is a room of classic science experiment stuff (using crank wheels to make things move, experiments in electricity) and a room of computers with kid-friendly programs. They have a nice underwater exhibit with real dissected specimens, a coral reef tunnel they can call through and submarine cockpit where they can push all the buttons and drive it. The have a couple of great little activities like a room where you can make a huge bubble around yourself, a room where the walls have glow in the dark tape on them and you can make imprints on the wall and train set. There is also a ZOOM section from the popular kids show on Nick. They can play on a set and it actually projects them onto a tv screen. There is a dinosaur room with realistic models, a music instruments room they can play, a food market with fake foods for them to shop and exhibit about the dangers of smoking. more
