A friend and I went in for a "journey" and neither of us were particularly impressed with anything at this spa "haven" that i had previously heard so much about. Wile a few of the aestheticians were sweet, some of them were downright rude and none of them told us their names, (which made figuring out the tip envelopes a little awkward.
On another separate occasion, we held a friend's bachlorette "spa day" - think again ladies!! The customer service at this venue has a bit to be desired. They are not terribly accomodating and considering the number of options of spas in the city and the prices that they were charging...they could at the very least be a bit more pleasant
In the field of NYC spas, I dont think we have to settle for mediocrity and indifference on our pampering days!

I have been working with Starbright Floral for over four years. Nic & Janelle are just two of the nicest people you will ever meet. They are very accomodating and will work with you to make sure that your every floral need is met!!! Their prices are incredibly reasonable and their offering is tremendous.
I absolutely love this florist! Everytime I placed an order, not only were the customer service representatives very courteous, but my order was sent out promptly and the FLOWERS WERE ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Every arrangement I sent through Starbright received tons of compliments and praise. Their designers are unbelievable. If you dont believe me, check out their location for yourself. :)
We chose them to do our wedding flowers (centerpieces and hupa) and couldn't be more excited!!!

Male professionals from all industries stop by John Allan's two locations (one in midtown, one in downtown) to get a haircut with all the trimmings. The ambience is old-fashioned clubhouse, all dark wood and leather: there's a pool table in one corner, shoeshine stands in another, rows of comfy loungers and cigar and massage rooms in back. Drinks are served and you're free to lounge around after your treatment.
The Services
You don't just get a haircut here: The reasonably-priced "Full Service" package also includes a scalp massage, hot towel face wash, manicure and shoeshine. Beard trims and facial or body massages of various lengths are also available, along with a branded line of products. As you relax in your chair while one staff member cuts you hair and another massages and manicures your hands, you'll feel like quite the king.
My finance recently purchased the "Full Service" package and he couldn't be happier. According to him, "Hands down the best haircut and the most wonderful setting for a man to get a haircut and a shine. The moment you walk in your Jacket and Bag and quietly placed in the coat check. Feel like a drink? How about a beer? Enjoy a cold one as you sit in an amazing leather arm chair while a true expert makes you look like a million. All this and the price is right!

If ever there could be the worst possible shopping experience ever-it would most certainly be at Century 21. My finance & I visited Century 21 about six months ago and were extremely disappointed by the absurdity of the customer service (if you could call it that), crowds and unruly organization of the store.
I've gone to Century 21 on what I would consider "off peak" hours only to find that there doesn't seem to be such a thing here.
That said, it's a lot of fun to shop here if crowds don't bother you. Some real bargains can be found. My favorite departments are shoes and handbags ... which can also be the most hectic.
..A store you have to frequent often to catch a STEAL! Go on off hours to avoid waits and crowds. Merchandise is always updated - so don't despair! Go to your favorite boutique and then stop by Century 21 to get it cheaper and with no nagging salespeople! Warning: the staff is surly and the patrons are nasty -- good luck!

With its ultra-clean, minimalist décor and its topnotch staff, Equinox raises the bar for chain health clubs. At consistently spacious facilities, the design team continually maximizes natural light and highlights organic architectural quirks. Equipment from industry standards like Cybex and Hammerstrength are paired with high-end machinery--including one specifically designed for the company by Life Fitness. Even the piped-in music (which varies from room to room) has been thoughtfully programmed. Locker rooms are uniformly spotless. This is the only gym facility that i would even consider taking a shower in!
The classes are great and so are the facilities. I recently completed physical training sessions with one of the trainers and was relatively pleased. He could have been a little bit more attentive. All in all-I am definitely happy with my overall experience and look forward to my future workouts.

Bliss definitely knows how to pamper you. The lockers, showers, bathroom, waiting room, facial/massage rooms, snacks, free samples... all perfect to really make you feel like a princess while you're there. I don't know if I've ever been anywhere that comes close to that level of VIP treatment.
BUT my massage was only pretty good but they kept on trying to push their products, which I never really like. So if atmosphere is really important, go and be happy. When it comes to facials, I'd like a little more results for my money.
I treated my mom for mothers day at the 57th street location and we were rushed to the treatment room. As I mentioned before, my massage was just ok but my mom seemed to have gotten a great attendent.

The Scene
Once shrugged off as a slightly musty grande dame, this famed salon's recent makeover has her looking younger--and hipper--than ever, while leaving the core of luxury intact. The spa is as much about pampering as end results--see the quiet, candle-lit spaces, wonderfully fluffy robes and hushed voices. The clients range from Upper East Side dowagers to NYU students, with a fair amount toting gift certificates.
The Services
Treatments run the gamut from skincare, waxing and body treatments to hair styling, makeup application and popular mani/pedis. Unique offerings include the "Pomegranate Warm Stone," "Ardena Four Layer" and "Double Oxygen" facials; customized hydrotherapy tub sessions coupled with massage; and luxurious "Desert Stone," "Olive Oil" and "CitraSpa" pedicures. The hair salon employs talented stylists and colorists whose work is often seen in fashion magazines.
I consistenly visit the Red Door spa for fantatic eyebrow waxing. The waiting areas are often crowded and their systems are often down. I have recognized that this venue tends to be a "tourist" find.....takes something away for the locals!

I've been to a couple of spas here in NYC, and I always have a great time, but I went to Oasis on Park on Friday and had a wonderful time. I had a massage and a facial. It was amazing. The decor is lovely, and the guy and girl at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. Definitely a top pick!
My mom & I do a "spa day" once every year and after trying numerous spas in the city...oasis day spa is our number one choice. we have been back for four years in a row and are looking forward to the next four.

Gigino's is fantastic. The food is of a great quality. It has been downtown for quite sometime but somehow it remains fresh and inventive. The decor is warm and the service is quick. Sometimes you may encounter a new waiter and the "warmth" may not be fully adequate but it is still by far my favorite restaurant in Tribeca. Great for groups looking to have a good time. You have to try the restaurant made mozzarella.

The cuisine has the same kind of stylish, determinedly casual feel as the decor. You can stick to the tasty sandwiches or order up more substantial fare (some think the pies alone make Bubby's worth the trip). There's also a spacious barroom and some nice corner alcove seats. The shiny brass bar adds a touch of class, and the staff mixes an excellent cocktail. There are even seats outside for warmer weather.
