This is simply the best non-chain Chinese food in the greater Raleigh area! Period. Owned by a family who moved to Louisburg from Queens, NY, Golden Oriental cooks the best fried rice, General Tsao’s chicken, egg rolls, and lo mein around. When my in-laws come in to town from New York, we always order from Golden Oriental—makes them feel like they are back home. The wait isn’t bad, either: usually only--in their words--“ten minute” for take out. Their buffet is pretty good, too. Inexpensively priced.
