Rivaled only to the downtown Hilton, but has the edge of Eugeneโs best accommodation due to its wonderful river front views. Guest also have near access to a running path that parallels the Willamette River for miles. The Inn plays host to many conferences and events and I believe whenever a famous person comes to Eugene (say, Tom Cruise), they stay there.

The front desk staff at this motel is very friendly and helpful. It is family-run and they are honest people running this place. Although it is outside of Eugene, it is still a short drive away. The bar/restaurant at the motel has a revolving bar! It's nothing like I've seen before! The price is fair and again, the staff is very accomodating! I highly recommend.

Campus Inn is located at 390 E Broadway, at the intersection with Franklin Blvd. This is an easy walk to the downtown core, and just a skip and a jump to the University district.
Front desk help has always been extraordinary, and repeat customers are greeted like old friends. There is a free, light continental breakfast available in the lobby each morning. Starbucks coffee is available in the rooms. Refrigerators are available.
Satellite TV, high speed DSL internet connections, an open-air sun deck for good weather, and a newer fitness center are available.
Restaurants specializing in breakfast are within walking distance. Other meal options range from fast-food to fancy dining, all within a few block radius.
Triple A approved. This one does book up fast when conferences are in town. It is clean and well maintained.

More
The La Quinta Inn is located just off Coburg Road and next to Alton Baker Park at 155 Day Island Road. While close to downtown, and easily accessible, the location seems a little off the beaten path. It's actually a lovely, easy to reach spot, with accomodating hosts.
This facility was built in 2000. The lobby feels like you are entering an attractive mountain lodge. Included with your room price is a breakfast buffet which should offer enough satisfying food to get most people going in the a.m.. Evening snacks (like cookies) are also offered. Rooms include coffeemakers.
The hotel features an indoor pool, and a fitness center. They do accept pets in some rooms. Airport transportation is also available.
A walk through Alton Baker Park would be a good way to relax. Nearby paved paths offer access to shopping and restaurants at Valley River Center mall, or Oakway Center. La Quinta is also to the Waterfront Grill, which features quality seafood and steaks, and McMenamin's North Bank -- a brew pub with seating that offers a fantastic view of the Willamette River.
Rooms are clean and attractive. The rates are reasonable.

The editorial profile claims they offer a 10% discount for AAA members but no one tells you that when you make a reservation or check in. Then when I called to ask about it, the evening clerk said she didn't have a clue about what to do and to call back tomorrow. This kind of polite, vague,
lack of knowledge characterizes the service I received.
The room was bland and unattractive but the bed was confortable. Everything is very clean, almost overly so, with the smell of disinfectant thick in the air. The room has amenities like a coffee maker and it reminded me of the generic chains like Shiloh or Amerisuites. The location is abysmal, surrounded by Walmart, K-mart and Fred Meyers. There is no where to walk although it is closer to the Country Fair than downtown (which helps one weekend a year). The breakfast
is all right but nothing special with some mediocre muffins, fruit, and teeny yogurts. Coffee was good. A large TV screen is on while you are eating breakfast. As I wrote, there are some amenities but I'd prefer some character and someplace to walk around. The location is really depressing. It is not cheap either by Eugene standards. Overall, tolerable but not wonderful.
I would not stay there again.
Pros: Near a gas station, close to country fair
Cons: Location, decor, service

This is a newer hotel. The place is clean. They have a pool, work out area, high speed internet connections in the room, sattelite TV, and a free breakfast buffet in the morning. I've put up a lot of business partners, and they are all satisfied with the location and rate. Be sure you ask what specials might be in place, or look on-line for the best rate -- the regular price seems high for the location. The staff is great to work with.
The real downside to Hampton Inn is the surroundings are so blah . Located right on West 11th Avenue, the hotel backs up to a bark mulch yard, which is not the most lovely thing to look at.
There is not an on-site restaurant. The hotel web-page lists "nearby" restaurants such as Steelhead Brewery and Koho Bistro. Nearby is a relative term -- the Brewery is in the downtown core (about 3 miles away.) Koho is probably 8+ city blocks away. Just be aware: none of the restaurants noted on that web page are in convenient walking distance. All are minutes away by car. There is a brand new "My Coffee" location just next to the Hampton, but the food offerings at that spot are limited. West 11th is packed with fast food and casual dining spots and a couple large grocery chains. There are very few "fine dining" locations along this stretch of road.

As I was driving south on I-5 it was getting really late, so I decided on staying the night at this Motel 6 which is right off the I-5 highway.
It's located right next to a Denny's restaurant and a Shell gas station; both of which are open 24 hours a day for convenience.
Once I got to my room (which was not on the highway side), I noticed how small and very, very bare the room was. It was basically just a plain white box (no paint on the walls) with minimal furniture in the room (a full-sized bed, small dresser, a small TV, one telephone, and a small bathroom with no bathtub just a shower enclosure. The very few towels that they had in the bathroom were plain, white and very thin and scratchy.
The worst part about this Motel 6 was that even though I was in a room not facing the highway, I could hear the cars on the highway loud and clear. I had to turn on the A/C to mask out the noise which kind of helped.
So, even though I only paid $38 for the night, I didn't get too much sleep with the highway noise.....which kind of defeats the purpose right???
PROS:
CONS: Highway noise, minimal furniture and very small bathroom.
