Come for the Patio...Not for Dinner 5/6/2012

I wanted to like Takoba. Really. I did. Over the weekend was my first visit to this east side restaurant. The patio, Takoba's primary dining area is large and comfortable enough and once we moved away from a near by smoker, quite pleasant. It was fairly busy, but not crazy and my friend and I were seated immediately. The service was friendly, but slow. I order the sauteed tilapia which had no seasoning and thus was very bland. It was accompanied by rice and corn tortillas which were fine, though not exciting and what was describe as including apple, though tasted like a simple slaw heavily drenched in vinegar. My mojito was yummy, though a bit pricey. If I found myself in the area again, I may stop by for a drink though have no intention of having a meal at Takoba again. more
