I remember going to La Guli's as a child with my dad to get our 'Sunday' pastries. We would wait on line outside the store and as a few people would leave, they would let a few more in. Today, I carry on that tradition as there is no better Italian pasteries than you will find at this Astoria gem of a bakery. Summer time, enjoy their homemade gelato. For me there is always room for their great cookies. If you are celebrating an event, their cannoli cream cake with rum is as Italian as it gets - my absolute favorite cake in the world. Make the trip, it's well worth it.
