Capital Flea Market is a fun, open-air market place with bargains galore! It has more private sellers (average folks selling their belongings) where as many of the large swap meets are now heavily populated by businesses offering discounted pricing because of the low overhead. There are businesses, but not to the exclusion of the private sellers.
And it is the private sellers that bring the most wonderful treasures! Come out to the Capital Flea Market and discover your next treasure!

It's easy to get a haircut but not so easy to find an artistic hairstylist. You know that person that can look at your hair and instinctively know what would look best on you. This is what I look for in a hairstylist, I want a stylist that makes me look hot!!! Angela is that person. She is so talented and lots of fun. For me it was a real search finding a stylist that did a good job, and for awhile my hair just didn?t look that great. Now, thanks to Angela, I look amazing and receive compliments all the time. Our mother's group had a great day at this spa. The treatments were excellent. The facilities very nice, and big enough to comfortably host all of us (10 people) plus all the other guests. The facial that I received was outstanding.
All the small details, like having a phone booth area where I could make a business call from, made this spa super.

Hicklebee's offers a great selection of children and teen books. They have a small section for baby books, both soft and hardcover. Children's books are available in several categories including academic, science, and ficiton. Teen books are available in similar categories as well. Hicklebee's also has a nice selection of toys, dolls, and stuffed animals. Nearly every week, an author stops by to sign books and gives readings of their latest books. One of the biggest names to come to Willow Glen was JK Rowling.

Whether you are looking for books, magazines, music, or a place to relax and read for a little while, this it the place to go. Their selection of books is massive and you can find something on nearly any subject you want. There is a fun little coffee shop inside the store and you can get your drink, find a book or magazine and sit and read for however long you want. The layout of the store is easy to navigate so you don't get lost. The restrooms are usually pretty clean and well stocked.
I have been known to lose half a day in this store.

San Jose Museum of Art is one of my favorite places! If you become a member by paying a $50.00 annual fee, then you can come to Kids Art Sunday which is the second Sunday of every month. At Kids Art Sunday, you get to come to the museum an hour before it opens and get special tour by the docent focusing on a special piece of art. It may be abstract, pottery or film. Then the kids get to do a special art project which relates to the piece of artwork they saw. I didn't think that I liked modern art, but I have really grown to appreciate it after visiting the museum on a consistent basis. My kids have learned a lot about art and so have I!

I have always been satisfied with my cut and color! I have not had a problem with my color fading fast. It has looked great. I take the advice of my stylist and use the products recommended (the products they sell are wonderful). The staff are always friendly and attentive. Sure it is a bit costly, but this is Silicon Valley and you are going to pay to have something done right. I have been to a lot of other places and paid less, only to be dissatisfied. I would totally recommend W's Salon.

I remember when this restaurant was half the size it is now and was just making a name for itself. The food was excellent then as it still is now. The only difference is there is always a waiting list at dinner time now. Do not be afraid to order anything on the menu. It's all delicious!
Pros: one of the best pizza's in town
Cons: always a wait as this place is really popular with the locals

The Flea Market is located at 1590 Berryessa Road in San Jose since 1960. Generations of San Jose families have flocked there on the weekends to search for treasures, haggle with sellers for bargains or to sell their own possessions.
It is a fun, ever-changing place that is always a good way to spend a weekend afternoon. Sundays generally have the best turnout. Go early to take your pick of the best items or to find something really special.
Don't expect anything fancy here. It is an open-air marketplace. But it's always fun, a great place for bargains and always an adventure.

This is the best place you can buy all your nursery items from. The place is huge, very clean, tons of parking out front. The staff are amazing, they really know what they're talking about. Each area has staff specializing in those items (cribs, strollers, etc.). Their prices are very competitive. I have never seen so many cribs set out in one store before, each one with a different bedding set. They tell you what to look for before you purchase and have the patience for you to ask a lot of questions.
