I went in to get a cut and have my color refreshed. I had a medium red brown over dark color hair that I had done at a cheaper salon. I wanted a better cut and better color so I came here, where the price is over twice what I paid at the cheaper salon. I said I wanted a slightly lighter color and asked what my options were. The stylist said that highlights would be better than applying color all over, so I said fine. We did not discuss the color of the highlights. I have had highlights done dozens of times before and I was not concerned. Well, imagine my surprise when I find out that the top of my head is 85% platinum blond. It looks very unnatural. I imagine a punk rocker might like this look but I am an older woman and I most definitely do not like it. Furthermore, the stylist gave no indication that she was going to make such a dramatic change. The stylist herself had the most bland hairstyle - long brown hair (which looked nice but none the less was extremely conservative).
Pros: nice atmosphere
Cons: poor quality of results
