decided to write a review for this place after commenting to my friend about how i never write reviews for my hidden gems. been going to this place since at least the early '90s. Have had just about everything on this menu and have never been disappointed. My favorite dish is the caldo de res (It's not on the menu. I guess it's for regulars?). The beef and squash chunks fall apart when you poke them with your spoon. The seasoning used in this caldo really sets it apart from the Mexican cocido. The empanadas in their deli next door are to die for! Take them to go though and have a meal at the restaurant instead. Just heat the empanadas up in a toaster oven (don't microwave them). The beef and cheese ones are yummy. Although I like spinach, the spinach cheese ones aren't a favorite. Tonight, my friend had the corned chicken pie and a milanesa sandwich.
