You'd expect a big city like Houston to have an awesome zoo. Well, I wasn't very impressed. I mean, there are lots of animals, but they are nearly all in chain link cages and it just seems more cruel than fun to go and see. The seal exhibit with the pool and where they can put on shows is really neat. Prices are a tad high, but if you have a membership to your local zoo, if different than this one, you can get in free here which is a huge bonus! Overall, this is an ok zoo, but I left feeling sorry for the poor animals here. They didn't look like they were happy in their cages :-(
