Oh Colette, if only I could have a billion babies, so that you could be my midwife all the time! I work as a doula, and I chose Colette to be my midwife for my third baby. She is one of only a few homebirth midwives who work in the Tacoma area. I interviewed a few others down here, since I had moved here from King County and worked with several up there (as well as had my other two babies with midwives up there). She is highly knowledgeable, built from years of experience and continuing education in the field. She intuitively knows what to expect and do, which you just can't buy no matter where you were educated. She just "knows." She is professional, responsible, caring and helpful. I went through a rather hectic busy pregnancy. Colette was calm and reassuring, always there for me. She knew that I am a responsible person about my health, and she expects her clients to be. I really respect that. I had a very healthy, fast birth (45 minutes!). Colette's presence, warm encouragement, and intelligence helped me to have a fantastic birth. She checked up on us in the early postpartum, and kept in touch with me throughout the early months. She even came to my daughter's baptism! I feel like she's my spiritual sister, not only in birth, but in general. Her and her midwife partner Lisa Boyd are just THE BEST! I want another baby, just to have her be my midwife again! ;-)
