Wow, I finally found a little kids' heaven right here in University Place. Odyssey 1. Oh yeahhhhhh, how cool is this place. My oldest son had been to a few birthday parties here with his dad and brother, so I had never been. Since school was out on St. Patty's Day and it was raining and I was feeling rich, I decided that Odyssey 1 was the place to go. What the heck, I thought, try it out. If it sucks, then I can choose to not come back. I found a coupon for $5 in tokens. The admission price was good for all of us: $11 total. I was amazed by the largeness of the play structure and it's relative safety and cleanliness. The employees regularly patrolled it too, so that was good. We ordered pizza, and I was fully expecting the same gourmet quality of a Chuck E. Cheese piece of cardboard. Not so. Their pizza was actually quite good and flat. I was surprised, so then I wasn't so taken aback by the $16 price for a large pepperoni. The games were fun too, although $5 in tokens does NOT go far at all. It wasn't packed like I thought it would be with school out and rain. We had plenty of time to sit and chat with the locals and eat our pizza. I never felt rushed or overwhelmed. Even the baby liked it. So I blew $27 to entertain my kids on a rainy day, and it was so worth it.

This place is fantastic for kids of all ages. My 2 year old loves the indoor play area, but there are video games and lazer tag for the older kids. For kids under 2, the admission is around $2, and you can stay as long as you want. It's clean, safe and relatively "quiet" during the week. My playgroups like to meet there when they open at 10am. It is complete chaos on the weekends... avoid it all costs!

This place is kind of like Chuck E. Cheese only with more of the mazes to go through. They have lots of different kinds of activities for all different ages of kids. They also have plenty of video games and now they have lazer tag for the kids to play. I have been to a birthday party here where they have 2 private rooms. The price is pretty average but beware that it is usually pretty busy and loud on the weekends. They open pretty early in the morning on the weekdays.

Odyssey 1 is a fun place for kids, perfect for rainy days (and really hot summer days) The jungle gym is great for tiny kids (1 year and up), they can play in the ball pits, climp up and go down the slides. For older kids they have lots of games to play. The prizes are ok and the pizza's taste ok, a little expensive though. Just like all the other kids fun places it can get very crowded on weekends. And they do Birthday Party's too.
