I have taken the three and a half hour whale watching tour numerous times. I have always seen not only whales, but other marine animals too. The cost is affordable and the company offers discounted rates for seniors and military members. You can get a lower price by going during the week instead of the weekend. The boat is very big and you'll always get a good viewing spot, no matter where you are. more

Great way to see the San Diego Skyline 8/20/2005

Hornblower offers one- and two-hour narrated tours. The two-hour tour takes passengers on a 26-mile loop, with views of the naval ships stationed in San Diego Bay and views of downtown San Diego's skyline. The cruise is narrated by the captain with historical insight and stories about the harbor's past. Hornblower also offers whale watching cruses when the whales are on there migratory run down to Baja. Often times there will be live music to go along with the wonderful sceneries. more
