Need Japanese Food Ingredients 4/13/2006

If I crave Japanese candy/chips/sweets/ice cream.. then I go to Mitsuwa which has a lot of selection. I love going there just to look at everything because it's so colorful. Also, they have a lot of Japanese drinks like Calpis and Aquarius which I do suggest if you haven't drank those already. Also, if you want to make some Shabu Shabu or Sukiyaki or whatnot they have really thin slices of beef. The thing is, Mitsuwa is not cheap and I wish it was cheaper but I can't blame them since they have to import them from Japan. And.. Japan isn't cheap as it is. more

Looking for some Japanese food? Drop by Mitsuwa Marketplace at downtown LA. If you buy things in the market you can have free parking. They got all kinds of Japanese goods in there. You'll be surprised with once you visit there. Oh, people who works there are extremly polite and nice!!! If you ask them where an item is at they'll take you over the line and find it for you. Around the market there is few restaurants and stores to shop. There is also a game room at the third floor. more

I love mitsuwa! 11/14/2005

Pros: Clean and Neat All kinds of Japanese Goods (including snacks, some make ups, cheap lunch box etc. Two locations. There is another one in San Gabriel There are some other small stores and bakery in the same plaza. You can walk around and spend half of your day there Coupons and sales all year round!!( I bought several packs of kobe beef there with low price) Cons: Parking(you need to get the validation, but there is a nice parking structure there) The price is a little bit high (but Japanese stuff is supposed to be expensive) more

One-stop shop for Japanese food supplies 10/29/2005

This is a great market: there are the typical items you'd expect, like miso paste, sashimi, Japanese snacks, etc., but there are also cooking ware, sampling of the food in the store, and a section for baked goods, food to go, and even magazines! You'll want to go back there again. The selection and the variety can't be beat. Plus there are surrounding stores selling miscellaneous items such as teasets, etc. more

Mitsuwa Marketplace 8/13/2005

My friend introduced me to this grocery store and I love it. Its the only place to get Kona Coffee Mochi Ice Cream and some other items that I don't know the English name for, I just know it by its packaging. You can also get Miso Paste, fresh fish and Pocky sticks in all different flavors. It is at one end of a small mall in Little Tokyo but parking is free. If you are in Little Tokyo area, stop by at this Japanese grocery store. You can park in the structure for 2 hrs free. It's a bit chaotic/crowded than other Mitsuwa's. more

Mitsuwa is the Best 8/7/2005

Mitsuwa is a Japanese grocery store. Their food and products are mostly imported from Japan except some fresh produce. They have a huge variety of ramen, cup noodles, chocolate, chips, etc, you also can't miss their sushi and bakery section. You can get free 90 minutes parking with purchase of ten dollars or more. more
