Worth the drive to Eagle Rock!! If these 130+ reviews don't convince you to go here, Jonathan Gold's LA Weekly article will. The famous critic can't say enough about Casa Bianca's pizza pie. It really is that darn good! The crust on the thin side, the marinara on the spicy side, and the cheese covering almost all the way to the edges and baked to perfection. You don't need to say "extra crispy". The pizza does not flip or flop around, it's cut into wonderful little slices that are easily, but not mindlessly, devoured. When my boyfriend and I took a recommendation and ventured to this suburban spot we had high hopes, but were extremely impressed and our expectations were exceeded. Friendly staff, comfortable dining area, homey decor. I like plain cheese pizza and my boyfriend likes pepperoni, so we get 1/2 and 1/2, both are great. Casa Bianca isn't typical big ol' slices, but the flavor bursts and confirms the decision to branch out and give somewhere besides Village a try for some pie. OH and they're open late! So rare in l.a. and so convenient.
Pros: everything-pizza, staff, price, decor, parking

I disagree with the previous reviews, my friends and I went to Miyagi's last saturday night and we had a blast. We dined on the third floor, and loved the decor with music videos playing all night. The food was excellent, and they had us saki bombing all night! We loved it. Both the owner and the manager made an effort to come to our table, and the sushi was, in our opinion, better than Geisha House's. A must try!

The atmosphere from the first moment you walk in feels like your in japan. The staff greets you in a nice and friendly manner. The plates are proportionate and the quality of food is excellent. I will defiantly be going back. Best sushi I have had in LA, hands down.
Pros: Great atmosphere, good food, great sake!!

The family spent the day with Dinosaurs, African mammals, Birds, sea creatures, looking at precious stones. Looking at skeletons was oldest son's favorite, T-rex was my middle child's favorite, my youngest and my only girl loved the precious stones the baby animals and the dresses old and new. The Elephants and deers were captivating, but for my brother-in-law (who was visiting from Brazil) the big Dinosaur in the center of the main floor was the most interesting of all. It was a great day.

I live in the neighborhood and am a regular. On a Friday night after a long day at the office, there is nothing better than being able to walk in, walk out and have not only my belly satisfied, but also my wallet. Great food for a great price! Love this place and I highly recommend it.

I went to Street for my birthday in August as it was recommended to me from a friend. I read some of the reviews on the net and tried several of the dishes described as some of their best. I went with four friends and we ordered about 6-7 things and everything was so unique and delicious! I recommend sitting on the patio as it's quieter. I also recommend you try their absinthe cocktails. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening! The service was very friendly and fast and the waitress recommended some dishes we tried and we all loved everything. Treat yourself to a really original experience in dining!
Pros: Very original menu and so delicious!
Cons: None

There are few restaurants on earth that I would give a 5 star rating to, but Kokekokko may deserve 6, if it was possible.
The low down:
The owner, Tomo-San is a "master" chef, bar-none. His Yakitori is the best that I have had inside or outside of Japan. As a matter of fact, I have never been keen or able to eat gizzard, heart, joints, etc. in any restaurant for any reason. The thought made me a bit ill so I always order the simple stuff. Tomo-San is smart enough to wait until you've had a bit of sake to offer up some of these delicacies and let me tell you - he has converted me. If you watch Tomo-San cook, and run the restaurant, he seems close to Robert DeNiro's character in Casino, with an incredible eye for detail and service. BUT...this is a Japanese restaurant run as if it was in Japan and possibly Japan of 20 years ago. The "attitude" of some of today's Japanese youth in service positions won't be found in Tomo-San's eyeshot although his staff is clearly more than a little intimidated by him. Think "Samurai master" who cooks food and you will understand Tomo-San's mind-set. And thank god for it. The old Japan and the heroes that exemplified it (Takakura-Ken, Fuji Junko, Tsurata Koji) can be found alive and well inside of Tomo-San's eyes and his incredible skill.
His personal treatment of his guests is exceptional. He knows that most of us are clueless as to Japanese etiquette and behavior. So expect to feel a little out of place when you first walk in but you will find that soon, you are put completely at ease.
The food is so good that I find myself dreaming of it. Don't believe me? Walk in and try one of his chicken meatball skewers. And a thigh. And a the wing with Japanese salt. You will freak out. The sake is great of course, especially the frozen Arabashiri which is very reasonable.
This is a great place to bring a girl, or friends, or to come alone.
Pros: Everything I can think of!
Cons: Honestly, the only thing I can say is that there is only 1 Tomo-San!

My husband and I dined at Drago last night. It was by far one of our best dining experiences. The restaurant is sleek, modern and has a friendly vibe. The service was superior. But, the food was beyond exceptional. We had the oxtail ravioli which was pefectly cooked and scrumptious. The chicken dish was the best in town. They have a huge list of pasta dishes with fresh ingredients. This eatery is the best in downtown L.A. We live on the westside and will be coming downtown quite often to eat at Drago.
Pros: Food, Decor, Service
Cons: None

The food here is incredible, the price is not so bad. You have to wait for a while for your food though. The location around the restaurant looks kind of dangerous, but its lower LA so there is no much to expect.
Pros: Food and price
Cons: location around the restaurant
