I oversee Event Planning for several companies here in Los Angeles and it’s time I write a raving review on About Thyme Catering! \r \r John Kinderman and his staff are simply the best catering company we’ve worked with in Los Angeles. I’ve used them on countless upscale events over the years and they consistently impress. The staff, from top to bottom is incredibly professional and friendly. They adapt to my last minute changes with ease, and their food is spectacular! John and his chef always put together a delicious combination of cocktails and tray-passed Hors d'oeuvre that lead up to a memorable dinner. \r \r I can’t recommend a better catering company here in Los Angeles. Fantastic food and service!!! I had the pleasure of working with John & his team tonight in San Pedro at the Mancini wedding. \r \r I can't rave enough about how attentive, friendly, and professional About Thyme catering's team was! I was the wedding officiant for this beautiful wedding, and John's food was divine! \r \r The family was in love with the steak and shrimp Hors d'oeuvres. As a vegetarian, I ate the corn and black bean empanadas. I only had 2, but secretly wanted more. The buffet was delicious, and all of the food was hot and full of flavor! \r \r I highly recommend About Thyme catering for any event. BEST CATERER EVER! 2/8/2012

I don't know where to begin with the debt of gratitude I feel for About Thyme Catering. They just catered my wedding for 200 of my nearest and dearest and it was in one word: extraordinary. The staff was so kind, fun and thoughtful. The food -- i feel like we cheated them, it was so freakin' good (people are STILL talking about it) and Julian, the coordinator for our event ran the night just so smoothly. They took care of everything (and everyone) with such care, calm precision and so much amazing creativity. I'm floored. People just don't work like them. Top to bottom, the operation is inspired. And they worked with a budget that was far too small to get what we got. I owe them and will forever recommend them and hire them! more

BEST CATERING SERVICE IN LOS ANGELES 8/5/2011

We have engaged the services of John Kinderman/About Thyme Catering on multiple occasions and have been absolutely thrilled with the results. John and his staff deliver not only a menu that is delicious and satisfying, they assist in creating an environment that is both inviting and functional. John is phenomenally creative when it comes to working within a budget. We were completely amazed at how far John has been able to stretch each and every dollar. In these times, that is no small feat. John delivers your party with great class, efficiency, on time, on or under budget and, equally as important, with impeccable humor and grace. The BEST caterer I've worked with to date! 2/15/2011

I run about 30-40 catered events across the country each year and, by far, About Thyme is the best of the best.\r John is an absolute pleasure to work with, and makes everything very easy. I've used About Thyme twice now, for a plated dinner and casual buffet. In both cases the food was outrageously delicious, and the service was professional and elegant. The best part about this caterer is that they can do anything from high end formal events to professional meetings. About Thyme is creative, flexible and fun! I would fly them across the country to do every event for me if I could. \r more

Brilliant! The menu, the service, the ease of it all! 7/26/2010

When I decided to have a party for my big 5-0, I decided to splurge and hire a caterer. A friend referred me to About Thyme. The party was at our home in the Hollywood Hills and John Kinderman, sure brought home the fact that it was about time I hired a caterer! John met with me early on to discuss the menu. I gave him a budget, which wasn't huge, and he came up with a wonderfully creative spread that was superbly delicious, ample and elegant. We made it a hat party, so that all the guests wore hats, and John's staff joined in and added to the fun. They added a delightful vibe that enhanced the very yummy and artistically prepared menu but also maintained the highest level of professionalism. It was truly the best gift to have About Thyme create our event. It allowed us to enjoy the party completely. Pros: Imaginative, value, flexibility, easy, FUN more

A fun and FABULOUS experience! 6/24/2010

John was an absolute dream to work with! He is fun, professional and truly understands making his clients look great. The food was phenomenal, and abundant! Our guests are still commenting on how wonderful the food was...and some have even asked John for recipes. We will without a doubt being using John and all of About Thyme again! The Thyme Has Come! 6/23/2010

As the Manager for Special Events at the Natural History Museum and the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits I have worked with John on both my in-house events and as the caterer for clients who rent the museum for their private functions. \r \r He is a lot of fun to work with - coming through with class and style even on the tightest of budgets. His staff is amazing and his food delicious. What more could you ask for?? Pros: Great Staff, Great Food more

Wonderful tasteful stress free experience 6/19/2010

I never bother writing reviews however this company deserves a moment of my time to say Thank You! Everything was timed and organized, the food was yummy, interesting mmmmmmm. I run a large company, we used About Thyme to cater our Christmas party and all I can say is WOW. Lovely people the food kept coming we were never waiting around for the next corse. Food display was elegant, artsy appropriate for the event. John Kinderman ( owner) lived up to and surpassed our expectations. It's so refreshing to find a company in LA that still believes in service with a smile, a high quality product as well as a reasonable fee. we have used John Kinderman for all our opening parties. Thyme is reasonable and very open to give what we want on each occasion. His personal, creative activities make us happy to have him back. You need to try it! 6/17/2010

I would very highly recommend the catering services of About Thyme. They provided food for our Winter Shelter Programs where nightly we served 300+ individuals who found themselves without a home or a place to lay their head. The AT staff was professional and friendly and really showed a genuine care for our guests. Communication was prompt and clear in all aspects. I would not hesitate to hire John and AT catering for any event in the future and I would encourage anyone who will listen to do the same! Variety, the spice of life! 6/17/2010

Beautiful presentations of dishes, with a meticulous service team. Great imagination in combining foods to tickle the taste buds and spark one's brain to look at food in a totally new way. My clients always love to explore all the creations. I highly recommend for any size event. Pros: Total spectrum of the taste buds. more
