I've been to the Chrysalis with my wife twice now. The first time was on our honeymoon and then the second was a year later on our anniversary. Both times were excellent. We each got massages from the spa and we both really enjoyed them. They have fabulous rooms with very comfortable beds and a great view of the bay. If you want to indulge yourself with a great spa environment you should give it a try. http://www.thechrysalisinn.com/

I went to school at Western in Bellingham and I was addicted to Taco Lobo! The food is fresh and they make the tortillas by hand. I will admit that sometimes I make the treck up there just to get a buritto. I love Mexican food, and although I have found some good Mexican food in the Bellevue/Seattle area, NOTHING beats Taco Lobo. If you are ever in Bellingham, this is a must try! Its cheap, quick and it will make your mouth water for days to come! If I could rate this over five stars I would!

The Ginger Boat in Sehome Village is the best teriyaki I have ever had. It is family owned and operated, everyone who works there is great! And the prices are low, low, low, so low in fact that I’m surprised they stay in business; but they do because they are that good! Also, if you like curry try their Japanese style chicken curry it is amazing! Plus, tea is always free.

More
Village Books is a community-based, independent bookstore located in the Historic Fairhaven district of Bellingham, Washington and has been in business since 1980.
It recently moved into a newly renovated 3-story building, with a cafe on the top floor that provides a scenic view of Old Fairhaven and Bellingham Bay. Here you can find best sellers alongside with regional favorites. The children's section is very good, too. I like VB's "Literature Live" series which brings authors to town. I was fortunate enough to attend a reading by Madeline l'Engle several years ago. Owners Chuck and Dee Robinson have great book sense and connections in the independent bookseller community, and VB's customers benefit by being some of the first to hear about new authors and new books. I never visit Bellingham without a stop at Village Books.

I initially went to Salon d'Artiste because of a coupon for free cut with color, but it's since become my regular salon. The owner is awesome, very efficient and friendly. Best color jobs I've ever had, and managed to give me the cut I wanted even with my very vague descriptions.

This new restaurant has a really unique menu -- a mix of asian and western cuisines and a lot of unusual combinations that work really well. The atmosphere is nice but not over the top; it's a comfortable place.
The owner just opened up in Bellingham after spending 30 years living in Japan; he's enthusiastic about the restaurant and about you having a great experience.
The desserts are excellent; all the food is tasty. I've been there for lunch and dinner and enjoyed it every time.

More
I was a patient of the dentist at this office before Dr. Espirito & Dr. Schneider took over and was 'inherited' as a patient of theirs. Because of this, I have been a patient since the beginning, which has been quite a few years now. While, the previous dentist (Dr. Cunnington) was very good, I have been nothing but impressed by both of the new Doctors.
Here are the main reasons why I recommend them:
- While I don't believe 'painless' dentistry exists, this is probably as close as it gets. They work carefully and slowly. At alls time they seemed to be aware of any discomfort and do everything to alleviate it. I used to be quite nervous about having to go to the dentist, but haven't dreaded going for years now.
- At no time have I ever felt pressured into a procedure that I felt was unnecessary at that time or could not yet afford. They clearly explained everything I needed and wanted to know. In fact, the entire staff is amazingly friendly and do not talk down to you.
- They are obviously skilled as my teeth / crowns / etc feel terrific and I have not had any problems.
