It's worth the drive... 3/9/2009

Even though I live out in Redmond, I will make the drive out to Yea's Wok if i'm craving good wholesome chinese food. I usually make sea bass myself but I love the way they make it here. The price is comparable to what i pay at the supermarket so I'd rather eat it here than make it myself at home! I really enjoy their seafood tofu hot pot dish. It reminds me of my days back in Toronto where I used to live. My dad used to order it whenever we ate out at a chinese restaurant. i have not found this anywhere else in Seattle. LOVE IT! more

Sea bass 3/7/2009

Their sea bass dish is the best! It comes in four different styles. Shanghai spare ribs are good too. Very popular restaurant with take out as well. Near by people always eat out there so either make reservations or be ready to wait for 30+ min. But the wait is worth it. Lots of big round tables too so good for big gatherings. Price is very reasonable and very authentic Chinese food (Taiwanese). Waiters and waitresses are friendly and very hospitable. No wonder they are still doing so great! more

Yea's Wok 4/22/2006

If you love Chinese food, you must try this place. It's one of the cleaner Chinese restaurant in the area. If you live in the East side, it's the best Chinese food. The food is authentic, to the point that they have an English menu and a Chinese menu! Some of the items that are on the Chinese menu aren't on the English menu. The food there is quite flavorful, of course, if you don't mind the grease (since everything is stir fried), then you would love this place. My favorite dish there is the Mongolian Beef and their Hot and Sour soup. I also like their MaPo Tofu and String Beans. This place gets very crowded during dinner time, I generally do take out at this place because of the wait. more

Good food, but have to wait 11/24/2005

We love going there. However, don't go there on weekend. You'd better make reservations if you have more than 6 people. Or you have to wait at least 30 minutes to be seated. Always crowded. They have both authentic and americanized menu. Food is good and tasty. You can try their fried icecream as dessert. :) more

Eastside Chinese delight 9/26/2005

This is the place Chinese people eat when they want the real thing. All of the basics here are cooked the right way. The steamed fish and the crispy chicken were cooked above the standard set by Seattle's Chinatown. But, the stars on the menu are the kidney and intestine dishes. They are carefully prepared so that the odor is eliminated and the essential texture and flavor are preserved. If you are hankering for real Chinese food but don't want to drive to Richmond in Canada I would recommend Yea's Wok. more

Best Chinese food on eastside 9/17/2005

This restaurant is fantastic, with excellent food, quick service, and a diverse menu. To support how great this place is, they are always jam packed, have tons of "take-out" orders lined up for pick up, and even have a pager system to let you know when your table is ready because there is not enough room inside to wait. This restaurant also has good "feng shui", which adds to its popularity. more

The best Chinese food in the state 8/30/2005

And I will stand by that statement! Located in a strip mall in Newcastle (between Bellevue and Renton) Yea's Wok appears rather unassuming. Until you notice the people loitering around outside, waiting to be seated. Demand, especially on weekend nights, has increased along with the increased seating capacity afforded by several remodels over the past few years. I've even seen tour buses (of Asians) unload their passengers for dinners at Yea's Wok. The wait is worth it, believe me. I have tried most everything on their extensive menu and enjoyed everything. Their ingredients are fresh and sauces flavorful. Spiciness is added skillfully, so as not to overpower flavor. Grease is kept to a minimum and things never have a chemically taste to them. Prices are very reasonable and all the staff are fabulous. Once you've gotten seated your order is taken immediately and food comes quickly. They've been written up favorably in various local newspapers. more

Good one 8/17/2005

If you are looing for some authentic non-cantonese Chinese cusicine, you should definitely try Yea's Wok. This place is always quite busy and especially on the weekends. So make sure to make reservations if you don't want to wait too long. It specialize in Manderin, Sizhuan style of food. So you will find the menu looks quite different from many other cantonese-oriented restaurants. But give it a try and you will like it! more

Yummy Chinese restaurants in Seattle 8/9/2005

The food is great, the service is fast; however, making reservation is HIGHLY recommended! I couldn't find a good Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. The price of this one is reasonable. Try spicy food like wu geng chang wang(don't know the English), it is really good. And the roasted goose is not bad too. About the seafood, I have tried basil clam, it is good. Since it is kind of south China's style, the dishes taste a little bit sweet, but I am ok with that. Most western people like kongpao chicken, I haven't tried that though. Hope you like it. more

Authetic Taiwanese style chinese food 8/5/2005

I wish I can go there more often, but factoria/ new castle is just too far for me. The food is really authetic Taiwanese style Chinese food, they taste terrific, it's a decent size restaurant but just too crowded need wait almost all the time, well, that obviously means their food is good too. more

Chinses food 5/5/2005

If you are thinking to have Chinese food and happen to be in Factoria area, stop by this restaurant. At Dinner time, a beeper may be provided, since it is very popular place for dinner. But you can wait by doing grocery shopping or sipping a cap of coffee @ Starbucks next to it. My favorite dish is String beans with ground pork. I have not tried every menu, but most of dishes are very good and would not make you disappointed. more
