Wouldn't Recommend 1/19/2012

I came here for my yearly check up as well as to address my concerns with my current birth control. When I told the doctor what was going on she pulled out a book from her pocket to look up what I was on because she was unfamiliar with it and then flipped the page to something that she seemed to just point at and choose to change me to. I also asked several other questions that I was concerned about and how did she answer these questions?... She pulled out a laptop and began searching for things online and telling me "well according to this"... I'm pretty sure that I could have googled everything myself. Call me picky but I expect to go to a doctor who is able to answer my questions without the use of the internet/a book. I ended up going back to my doctor 4 hours away because I felt so uncomfortable with them. I'm hoping to find something closer soon, but this will definitely not be the place. more

Great Group 8/18/2005

Women's care group is a great group of ob/gyn's. Every MD in the group has a great personality and is knowledgeable and well-trained. They have two locations - at University of Tennessee Hospital and Baptist West Hospital for Women in Turkey Creek. I used their Baptist office and found it to be easily accessible with free parking. During a pregnancy, you see a different MD each time you go in for a visit. So, if you like the consistency of one MD, this group may not be for you. more

A positive pregnancy experience 8/16/2005

Actually, WCG cared for me through two wonderful pregnancies. I saw Dr. Pleas Copas first years ago when I needed some minor surgery - and he is an excellent surgeon. When I became pregnant, I wasn't sure I wanted to stay in such a large group because you have to see each doctor and you never know who will be there when you deliver your child (unless it's scheduled of course). But I was nervous about my first pregnancy and felt I was in the best place for me at that time. There were 7 doctors and 2 nurse practioners at that time and I got to know them all. It was actually kind of nice to be able to get different points of view on the various issues of pregnancy, but they also all seemed to work well together and be on the same page as far as my overall care went. WCG is at the University of Tennessee Knoxville Hospital Professional Bldg. so that hospital is where I delivered. Two fabulous babies later, I would definitely recommend WCG. more
