Friendly, knowledgeable, and look out for the customer 5/29/2012

I've worked with Will Ridge Auto Service for several years. They've worked on both of my cars and done several jobs all together. I continue to go with them because of the friendly and professional service. Something I especially like is that they lay out different options for how I could have the work done. Some of the options I get are things that could potentially save me money. They're not always out to do the most expensive job and I appreciate that. I'm very pleased with them. more

Trustworthy company with honest prices 3/9/2012

We have been going to John and Charlie since before they were the owners. I believe since about 1970, when they were just the neighborhood corner car shop, we have felt we could trust them. Today, we still trust them with our new cars and our 14 year old cars, and we have never felt like they would consider ripping us off. Will Ridge Auto Service is a reliable, reasonably priced, honest group of people we will continue to use as long as we have cars. more

Overall, we are pleased with Wil Ridge Auto, they do a pretty good job. 1/17/2012

I am pleased with their work. We went in for an oil change and ended up with a six hundred dollar bill. I do not question them because there were some broken parts that they showed me. We are repeat customers and they have done repairs for us in the past. Overall, we are pleased with Wil Ridge Auto, they do a pretty good job. more

Inclusive shop, easy to talk to and always friendly service. 11/16/2011

We've been going to Wil Ridge Autoservice for about 10-15 years now. We appreciate that they are always available to take our cars in for repairs quickly, because they have enough mechanics to handle the volume. They also always have time to talk about whatever the problem is with the vehicle. They are very inclusive in their discussions and give you ample information about what you can have done. They'll include the pros and cons, and what needs immediate fixing and what can wait. This is a great shop! more

Everyone likes John at Wil Ridge!! 11/8/2011

We go to Wil Ridge Autosvc because of John. He is just terrific and easy to work with. He's honest, direct, and forthright. He gives more information than we can understand sometimes. We go there, my husband goes there, my kids to there, my friends go there. Everyone likes John! My car had died in a parking lot at my child's school. I called the closest place, which was Wil Ridge Autosvc and they helped by charging my battery. They did it at no extra charge! I've been using them ever since, for ten years now. I always tell people to go to Wil Ridge! They are honest and helpful. I tell people the story of when we first connected, and they said "that works" and they go there! I live about two to three miles away so if it's good weather, I will walk home from the shop. If the weather is bad, they'll drive me, so they're very customer-oriented! more

Always had a great experience having them repair my car! 9/15/2011

Wil Ridge Auto Service provides honest service with a good price. I've been going for ten years and what makes me keep going back to Wil Ridge is their honesty. I found out about Wil Ridge by living in the community. They have done a range of services, including installing new tires and new shock absorbers, and completing the tune-up repair of my air conditioning system. I have always had a great experience having Wil Ridge Auto Service repair my car. more

Wil Ridge Auto Service do a good job on my car, and they treat me fairly. As a result, I've been going there for several years. They make me feel as though I'm a valued customer. The work is always done on time, and I'm happy with the results. They have done all I expect of them, without any problems. I recommend them. more

Good, honest shop. 7/12/2011

I've been going to Wil Ridge Auto Service since I could drive. I know Charlie really well and he's the only guy I'd go to, him and John. Whatever they say needs to be done, they are usually right about. They take good care of me. In terms of what they've done for me has all been positive. They lay out all of your options and give you a fair price for the work. I recommend them all the time. more

Excellent 6/16/2011

I've done business with Wil-Ridge of Evanston for twenty years. My daughter and wife have gone to them. I've had Hondas, Cadillacs, and Lincolns, and they've always done a fine job. My concern with leaving the Evanston area would be losing Wil-Ridge. They've looked at cars before I buy them, since I buy used cars. They stand by anything they do, and I don't have to go back often. They do their work well the first time, and they're good people. Wil-Ridge was rated one of the top car mechanics in the Chicago metropolitan area, not just in Evanston. The people at Wil-Ridge of Evanston are very honest and capable. more

Wil-Ridge of Evanston is fair and know their stuff. 5/13/2011

We've had a lot of work done by Wil-Ridge of Evanston over the years. We trust them pretty highly, and we think they know their stuff. Unfortunately, we've been having some trouble with our cars lately and we're wondering why they didn't catch it when they were doing a recent tune-up. Also, Charlie is a little gruff, but professional. We think that he could be a little more friendly to his customers. more

We take most of our cars to Wil-Ridge of Evanston for service. We have bought tires there and have had oil changes and the like. We have been using them for years. They are very conveniently located for me, because they are within walking distance. I have been using them even before this current location. We are satisfied with them. more

I have always found Wil-Ridge of Evanston to be very honest. They don't do things that didn't need to be done. I wouldn't keep going back all these years if I found any issues with them. They always inform me in advance of potential problems to be aware of. I appreciate the fair warning, so it's never a shock. The service they provide is very good. They are prompt and have quick turnaround. They deliver when they say they're going to deliver and the price is always what they say it's going to be. I have been using Wil-Ridge of Evanston for 25 years now because they are honest, fair, and they communicate well. They let you know what's going on with your car. The owner, Charlie, and his associate, John, have done all kinds of work for me, from tires, tune-ups, and oil changes, to engine work. I have 3 cars and they have worked on all of them. If there was ever an issue, they made it right. They are honest, skilled, and professional. Wil-Ridge is a good place to take your car. more

An honest appraisal. 12/21/2010

I was really pleased with Wil-Ridge of Evanston. I went in with a rattle in my car. They lubed the car and changed the oil. They also told me about a rusted left strut. Joe said that if I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money, I might want to buy a new car. My car was 10 years old, and it had a bad rust situation not visible to the eye. It was in the body system and was a safety issue. Joe was very honest with me. He told me that he doesn't sell cars, only repairs them, but he looked up what it would cost to repair my car and shared it with me honestly. He told me that of course the decision was mine, but that his advice would be to take my money and get a new car. He said that I could drive my car like it was but to be very careful of potholes. Since I live on a street full of speed bumps I went and got a new car. It was my first time using Wil-Ridge, a friend who also had an old car recommended them, and I would go back to that man in a heartbeat. He was absolutely forthright and honest. more

Very Flexible. Their service has been topnotch. 12/20/2010

I own a Lawn Care company and I have had our fleet of vehicles serviced through Wil-Ridge of Evanston for the last three years, and their service has been topnotch. I could not speak more highly about them. They are super flexible and accommodating. They can service me on short notice if need be. And, they call me before they do anything so they cam explain what they found and make recommendations. One of the problems I have had with other mechanics in the past is that they make a list of $5,000 worth of repairs each time I come in. The guys at Wil-Ridge make a list as well, but they tell you what needs done now and which things to be mindful of down the road. So, I know I can trust their recommendations. Convenient, reliable, and trustworthy. 11/29/2010

I have used Wil-Ridge Auto Service since I was a child, so I have been using them since I have been driving. That has been about 30 years. They are very trustworthy people. I have never had a problem where I have to take it right back in. Their service is convenient. They always seem able to work me in. They are also able to get parts quickly, so the turnaround time is good. more
