I worked with Kirk. He was was very charming on the phone and very focused on solving my problem. He told me he worked at Mercedes for ten years, and it made me feel comfortable to have experienced people working on my Mercedes. They helped me get a rental while they worked on my car. The rental place is about a block from their facility, which was convenient. I liked Westside Transmission's slogan, "A customer once, a customer for life". I think it might apply to me. I'm considering making them my permanent mechanic. I liked them a lot. more

The last 4 or 5 times I've taken a vehicle into Westside Transmission, I've been satisfied with the great personal service and honesty, and my vehicle is returned to me in an acceptable amount of time. This last time, Kirk had to build a new compressor on my Mercedes. They are honest, nice people that do a good job. more

Westside Transmission did one vehicle for me about four years ago, and I was happy then. They were conscientious and considerate. I found that it was the exact same thing this most recent time. They rebuilt my transmission and noticed a few other issues, like some substantial oil leaks. They were very conscious of preventative maintenance, and they were personable and knowledgeable. I had to get my valve body rebuilt. Initially they were going to rebuild my whole transmission, but they found another option that was more affordable and helped work within my budget. They told me it would be about 3 days to fix, but got it done in 1.5. more

Jack is the BEST mechanic I've ever had. I came in several years ago because I had been told that I needed a new transmission. I didn't. Meanwhile, Jack correctly diagnosed my vibrating engine as having cracked motor mounts. Since then he has done some major work on my car, and it's all been excellent. He explains everything in easy-to-understand detail; he's honest and conscientious; and the prices are more than fair. more

If you need work done on your transmission this is the place to go. The owner of the shop Jack is very nice, honest, knowledgeable and patient. He will go over the details of your cars problems. He will explain and show you what the problems are and what it will take to fix it. The people that work there are extremely extremely knowledgeable. They also work pretty fast. They are a bit pricey but nothing compared to the dealers, and if your thinking of taking your car to one of does backyard mechanics to save money, don't. You get exactly what you pay for, cheap. The owner of Westside transmission is very helpful, and really helps you out on what your car needs to be done. He estimated the time it will take, and how much it will cost, in a reasonable amount. I own an Audi with a CVT shiftless Transmission. Apparently, no shop is able to work on these units other than replacing it with a transmission form the Audi dealer. I?ve contacted at least 20 shops just to find out they are not able to work on it. The dealer wanted to charge me $7600.00 to replace my transmission. I?ve contacted AAA for a referral; they told me about Westside Transmission which was an approved transmission repair facility for AAA. To my surprise, they did work on these cars and were able to repair my car for a bit more than half of what I would have paid at the dealer. They were very nice and honest (something I?m not used to when it comes to auto repair), my car drives great thanks to Jack at Westside Transmission. I hope that my experience will be a good lesson to others. When my Toyota?s transmission failed and my regular mechanic told me they do not do transmission work but recommend I contacted Westside Transmission. I went to see Jack at Westside Transmission and was told that my transmission needed to be rebuilt and what it would cost. I started doing some research and found rebuilt transmissions from an online store for dirt cheap. I decided to buy one online and have my local mechanic install it which I thought would have saved me a lot of money. Well, it all started going downhill when I realized I had received the wrong transmission then the online store ended up saying that they do not have the right one in stock but that they would UPS my old transmission to their facility to be rebuilt. It took them 3 weeks to get it back to me. After getting it to my local mechanic and having it installed my mechanic calls me after 2 days stating this transmission does not work right (Keep in mind how long I?ve been without my car). I contacted the online store about it and they said, ?The problem is with the vehicle and not the transmission?. To make a long story short, I?ve been without my car for three and a half months, ended up suing the online store with no resolution yet paying for the labor to install the transmission which did not work. I?ve contacted Jack at Westside Transmission and told him my story. He actually remembered talking to me initially. He agreed to take a look at my car and confirmed, the problem was the transmission and not the vehicle as suggested by the online store. At that point, I had to get it repaired and since I?ve found great reviews for Westside transmission online and that my local mechanic highly recommended Jack, I went ahead and authorized the repair. It took them only two days to get me back on the road. Westside transmission was great, honest and courteous and best of all my car drives perfectly. Jack explained that no matter where you decide to take your car to, the most important thing is that one shop will do the transmission work and install it as well. That way if there is a problem they can take care of it and not blame someone else. The moral of my story is that cheap prices and great quality cannot be combined. I?ve ended up spending MUCH more than I would have if I had Westside Transmission do the work from the get go. My experience with Westside Transmission was great, I highly recommend them for any type of transmission problems you might have, and this is the transmission shop to deal with?. Plain AWESOME!!! Jack is the operator of the shop and fully understands what needs to be done. He communicates with you and gives you options. I won't say they're cheap, but they're good and back up their work and I'd say you get what you pay for in the auto repair business. the owner charged me 1000 over what the initial quote was. not only that, he lied about what he told me he quoted me the second time over the phone. after all that, i don't think he rebuilt the whole transmission because it is having one of the problems i initially brought it in for.
