Best

we have been going to West Park Animal Hospital for over 12 years and they are the best, they take care of all our dogs and treat them and us like family.

Worst

Don't take my word for it, check it out. Their prices are higher than vets' with better qualifications & longer resumes (Gateway Animal Hosptial & Animal Clinic Northview, to name...

Best Doctors/Staff & Animal Hospital On Earth! 2/14/2009

After reading some of these reviews, I am appalled! I have a 40 year history with West Park Animal Hospital. Yes, way back to the Dr. Meister days! All of my experiences have been nothing but exceptional! Recently our cat had a very large mass in his abdomen, which Dr. Adam found during a simple exam. He took x-rays to confirm his findings. He then operated on the cat the next mornig, never once giving us any false hope. Gee, the cat is doing fine today, Dr. Adam is our hero! He saved our cat from an almost certain death. Kudos to all of the staff and doctors there. We have always been treated with the utmost respect. When something goes wrong with YOUR pet, it is not the doctors fault, as with any medical treatment, or lack there of. Sorry if some of you people blame the doctors and staff for your own issues. Pets are an enormous financial, emotional and physical responsibility. Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

Very good care 1/26/2009

This hospital is clean, new, and well maintained. The Doctors are always friendly and have taken especially good care of my cat and dog. Like anything else, when it comes to health care for your pet you generally get what you pay for. Prices are going to be slightly higher at places with well qualified staff and better equipment. more

Very nice clinic 1/26/2009

I have been takeing my dog Mr. Wigglesworth to West Park for 6 years now and I have always received excellent care. The doctors are all friendly and always show concern for my pet. Shame on anyone blaming them for their own carelessness or unwillingness to spend money to fix their pet when they get sick! If you cannot afford to take care of your pet do not get one, end of story. This hospital is new and clean. Other hospitals I used to go to smelled like animal urine. The cost is slightly higher but it is well worth it for the quality of care my beloved little man recieves. I would recommend this clinic to anyone. Pros: Caring Doctors, clean hospital Cons: Always very busy, can be crowded in waiting area more

no sympathy for client 12/2/2008

Un professional. Did not have any concern that we lost our 9 month old puppy. Was only concerned with getting his money...... Never returned phone calls, had to keep calling him. Cons: money hungry no concern for animals health or clients feelings. more

no concern for puppy 12/2/2008

We purchased a 4 month Old Bulldog puppy. He had been in and out of the hospital since he was born we came to find that out after we bought him for 1800 But he survived 3 months of pneumonia, staff infection and 2 surgery's for cherry eye. But the terrible night came a few days before Thanksgiving. Our little puppy began to bring up his food took him to see Dr. ADAM the next morning who ran an x-ray on him and said he had no blockage and we should try this special food and medication. 197.00 later. we were on our way home and Gunner was not feeling any better. He refused to eat the special food or any food for that matter and continued to bring up his food called DR ADAM back the next day, he really had no concern for the dogs health. He said most dogs do turn their noises up to the food. then why give it to them. but we should try a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice. Little man ate just a few mouth fulls but it did not stay down. He continued to bring up his food...... Once again we called the vet back, still with no concern for our puppies live, he told us as long as he was drinking he should be ok. He never suggested we bring him back, never told us, this could be life threatening. Never suggested a ultra-sound. Well Sunday night our little man went into a massive seizure we rushed him into emergency and the wonderful female Doctor took Gunner and immediately said he needed a repeat x-ray and found a massive blockage in his small intestines. She rushed him into surgery but it was too late for our little puppy, his small intestines had ruptured right by the pancreas and there was really not much we could do. Cons: loss of pets life more

westpark animal hospital - avoid any time! 10/25/2008

This is a horrible place. The vets that I have had to deal with have been terrible. The one male vet is abusive to animals. Dont let them take your animals from you - you dont know the abuse that goes on when you cant see your animal! \r My friend kept her german shepherd here and they wash them cause they let the dogs go all over themselves. Then they washed her ( the shepherd) and she must have either fallen or been abused because her lip was split and when my friend got the dog in the car her mouth was bleeding like a stuck pig ... they tried to hide the fact that they HURT THE DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\r please be careful if you really love your dog or cat .. because they really dont care if your animal dies.\r They will blame it on a "" reaction to anethetic "" when it was their lack of monitoring or the animal layed on the surgery table for hours when the vet wasnt ready to do surgery! Pros: absolutely NONE Cons: worst vets out there more

Best pet care anywhere !!! 6/9/2008

We have been bringing our dog ""Ginger"" to West Park Animal Hospital for over 12 years. The staff is wonderful and Dr. Borys is great. He has always taken the time to talk to me and let me know how she was doing. I have a very busy schedule and they have always worked around me to make sure that they get Ginger in that same day. I am always confident that she is in capable hands with everyone on their staff.\r \r more

VERY VERY SCARY 4/30/2008

Between FOUR dogs, TWO cats and THREE horses, I have met a lot of different kinds of vets, the ""emegency hours"" (mostly women) have got to be the most inecpierienced I have ever met in my life! On two different ocasions in the ER different women have misdiagnosed my dogs. Do they have online degrees for vets cause I think that is where these people went!! The front desk people might possible have the worst manors and people skills I might add! My dog who is not scared of anyone or anythings was muzzeled, held down, peed all over herself!! Pros: NOT A SINGLE ONE Cons: JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING FROM THE SECOND I WALKED IN THE DOOR more

Horrible customer service 4/17/2008

I will never refer anyone to this animal hospital. One of the vets treated me horribly over the phone. He ended the conversation by asking me what my degree was in and how smart I was and then hung up on me! A little off topic from discussing dogs, don't you think? Who is he to judge and try to de-grade a pet owner? The website says they have a professional and courteous staff, but that is definitely not what I experienced with this vet. The office manager was very polite but she's unfortunately not the one treating our animals at this hospital. Cons: Vet was not respectful more

Saved my Severly sick cat 3/28/2008

I just wanted to say my older cat was saved by west park animal hospital.I went in through emergency with dr.AMY.She was just so darn sweet and caring. Then was treated the next day by Dr. Boros. He couldn't have been more compassionate and informative. My cat remained hospitalized for a few days then released back home.He recooperated wonderfully.I see that there is some bad reviews which not everyone is always going to be satisfied but sorry to see that the treatment they got was not what was expected.I will use them and recommend to others. more

WestPark Animal Hospital is the Best 3/10/2008

I take my two kitties to this hospital and have seen almost every doctor. They are the best at what they do--not only are they super nice to me and my kitties--but they also call you with updates--which I love. I highly recommend this vet hospital--I have been to other ones before and they cant compare!!! Pros: Staff-All the doctors--Very clean more

awesome avian vets, and emergency care, too! 1/22/2008

i've just started going to west park over the last year and a half, as i happily discovered, THEY HAVE AVIAN VETS THERE!!! [ we love dr. lindstrom, but he's pretty far away.] dr. kerry was sweet and patient with both birds that i've had in to see her, and i've just made an appointment for the new baby blue and gold, too. the receptionist , julie, is an absolute sweetheart, every vet's office should have someone exactly like her to be their 'first impression'. the one time that i took one of my dogs there for an emergency, they took excellent care of him, and he actually went to trot back into the room with the vet when we were leaving! if that doesn't say a lot about the level of care they give, i don't know what does! \r the facilities are gorgeous, too, by the way, and so far the office visits don't seem to bee too dangerously priced.\r Cons: the only one i can think of is that they're not in my back yard! more

A nice vet clinic 11/23/2007

My cat recently was treated for pneumonia at this clinic. She was very sick and when I saw the xrays the lungs were completely white and I was shown a normal cat xray and the lungs were black. My cat was in the hospital for a week and the cost was very high, but now she is back home and the doctor saved her life. For me, my pets are family, and the cost was worth the outcome. Everyone was nice to me and the doctor was always able to talk to me about how my cat was doing. more

OUTSTANDING STAFF !! 10/16/2007

I am currently working with the staff with my dog how is going to have her ACL surgery there and the staff has been outstanding with all my ?'s and all my crying over the phone when she hurt herself and me find out what is about to happen with her. !! They give not only the animal support but the owners too !! more

Good Place 10/14/2007

I have had to take my cat there, twice, for emergency treatment. They have always been very professional, and up front, about what the treatment would entail and the cost. It is a bit "pricey" but I believe they are worth it. The Vet that works the after hours shift for emergencies - Dr. Amy - is excellent. If she ever leaves to start her own practice, I will make a point of following her. more

Careing Staff 10/1/2007

We were seeing another vet from Strongsville who told us they think my dog had terminal cancer and they ran some work up and it came back inconclusive. We kept taking them back to the same vet again and again and they kept running expensive tests for three weeks and my dog got sicker and sicker, they would not give me medicine because they said the tests were inconclusive. My dog was very sick one night and we took him to see Doctor Amy and just by looking at him she told us what he had and ran a single work up on him and it diagnosed the dog had lymphoma. She sat down with us and discussed the options and because of the age and the advance stage of the lymphoma we choose to keep the dog comfortable as long as we could, and when he stopped eating I brought him back to Doctor Amy and she helped me put Baxter to sleep for the final time. She followed up with a caring card and the whole staff was wonderful. I have been going to West Park for 2 years now with Baxter?s brother who has arthritis and are seeing Doctor Boris. They do not pressure you on buying expensive medicine and give you all the options you need to make a good decisions on your pets health. Pros: Great staff more

west park animal hospital 6/13/2007

dont let vet take pet out of sight .. especially the male vets - owner beware \r find out what really happens behind closed doors !~\r Pros: NONE Cons: male vet owner beware what goes on behind closed doors to you pet . more

I love these folks! 8/28/2006

My dog is a patient here and we also use them as our boarding facility. The facility is amazing and it is always clean and well kept. The staff are friendly and helpful. I've never had a problem with Sunny after she's been boarded there. Always clean and they even wash her linens that I left with her prior to me picking her up!\r \r I can't say enough good things about them. Highly recommended. PROS: affordable, friendly, clean CONS: busy at times more

Animal Lovers 11/8/2005

I used to bring my dog here when we lived closer - I loved the people working there. They're all animal lovers and truly enjoy what they're doing. They keep it well maintained and clean, and their prices are outstanding compared to their competition. Everyone is so friendly and take so much care in everything they do, whether it's something little like clipping nails, or administering a shot! more
